Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Maryland

The opening of the location has brought me great joy. The quality of the smoothies and food is commendable, and I have no grievances in that regard. However, the service provided lacks consistency. While the staff is undoubtedly friendly, their speed of service could be improved, and some appear to lack essential critical thinking skills.

Recently, i ordered a smoothie bowl on the app. I arrived a few minutes early, so I just chilled for a bit. The staff greeted me, and I sat at the counter. When it was supposed to be ready, I went to the register and told the girl I was there to pick up an order. She asked my name and went to the back. She came back and said they were working on it, so I sat back down. But like, 5 minutes go by, and I see people who came after me getting their orders.. I went back to the counter and was told my order was coming out soon. A few minutes went by, and a young lady from the back came out with an order. Unfortunately, it wasn't mine. I told the young lady that my order should have been ready almost 10 minutes ago, so her and the young lady from the counter started "looking" for my order. They asked my name AGAIN, checked the computer and the shelf but couldn't find my order. They asked me what I ordered, and the young lady appeared to remake my order. The young lady from the register went and said something to her, and they found my order in the freezer. They handed me my order with no apology or explanation. My order went from being made "right now" to being lost in the freezer.

I don't usually write long reviews, but I think it's important to let you know about some things that could be improved. I'll keep coming here for now, mostly because it's close, but it's not really convenient if I have to wait 10 minutes for an...

Went to this location today and ordered the chicken Cesar salad and Nutella açaí bowl.

The worker that took my order was nice and attentive. I had to ask her after the salad was made that I did not want it, requesting a refund or the salad be made again. She was nice about letting the other young lady know.

The young lady making the salad had on a long sleeved sweatshirt under her work shirt and the sleeves hovered past her wrists and directly over the salad mix she grabbed and mixed in the bowl with her gloves hands. As she leaned over to grab ingredients she leaned directly over the bowl with her shirt touch in the bowl. That is nasty and unsanitary. She made a new bowl but after the experience and having some wilted pieces of spinach and lettuce I was completely disappointed with the salad and won’t order again.

I’ve ordered from this location several times and the service is not improving. The staff is young and I’ve witnessed them playing around, looking confused, and not taking customer complaints seriously. I’m trying to give them a chance but I don’t understand why they have 5+ staff members working if the service is going to be this slow. I’ve waited at least 15 minutes for a smoothie and multiple times I had to ask about my order. The owner needs to step in and provide proper training because I’ve witnessed several customers upset because their order is either wrong or they are sitting here waiting.
