Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Maryland

The women at this location are extremely rude. Today I was barely greeted at the register by a young lady with folded arms. She asked for the name for the order. I gave it to her as I continued to prepare my payment method. After a few seconds of silence, I looked up and she says "can you spell it". I guess the reason for the silence was that she was waiting for me to do so. My name is really simple. This is not something I would do unless prompted. Not long ago, I placed a pick up order. When I came in all of the staff was assisting other customers (but they saw me come in the door - I made eye contact with at least one of them). I stood in the pick up area and waited for them to finish the current customer and ask if I was picking up (that's what I would do if a customer walked in and stood in the pick up area). No one ever did. When I realized people were walking in after me and being waited on and that there was now staff not waiting on anyone I asked if my order was ready because I had been waiting awhile. With an attitude I was told I was supposed to greet them and tell them I was picking up. My response was that I thought they were supposed to greet thecustomer. Her response was "not when we're busy". The staff in general just seems angry and unhappy about showing up to work everyday. If you're to bust to greet customers maybe you shouldn't be taking...

Let me start by saying I absolutely love tropical smoothie cafe. But unfortunately I won't be returning to this location. The staff has been rude on more than one occasion so far. I went this morning to give them another chance and it was a bad idea. I walk in and there are two people working and none of them acknowledged me. One walked right past me to answer the phone then the other comes over to also take the call and then proceeds to take an order over the phone instead of me even though I had been there first. After taking the order she finally says can I help you? She seemed extremely annoyed like I was an inconvenience or something. I noticed they don't sell breakfast and some other things that are on the menu online as well which is not a huge deal. Anyway I proceed to order my island green smoothie. After a few mins the person calls my name to let me know it's done and hands me the smoothie and I smile and say thank you. She hands it to me, doesn't say you're welcome or anything. She actually walked and away then rolled her eyes. That alone makes me not want to come back. But that's not it, the whole time that I'm drinking my smoothie I'm sucking up kale and spinach leaves. Not a huge deal but going to a smoothie cafe, I expect it to be just as well blended as it would be if I made it at home, if...

I am UTTERLY DISGUSTED and disappointed with my experience at this Tropical Smoothie location today. I went in to order an açai bowl and walked out with nothing. On the way to the register the young lady sneezed and proceeded to take my order. She then walked over to make my order and NEVER ONCE WASHED HER HANDS. She used the hand she used to sneeze to hand me my receipt. Again, SHE NEVER WASHED HER HANDS. Once my order was made and she went to hand it to me I asked for a refund because there was NO WAY I was walking out with that bowl. I told her and the other young lady I didn't want the food because she didn't wash her hands. The young lady who made my bowl still DIDN'T WASH HER HANDS and proceeded to make another order while the other young lady attempted to call the manager. They were acting as if they couldn't give me a refund without speaking to him. They called twice and got no answer. They finally refunded me my money and I left.
