Went in and the hostess wasn't at the front, likely on a break or whatever but the servers were completely unattentive to us arriving and the place was dead (like two families already seated). Hostess did come after a few minutes from the back and greeted us and was super friendly. Server was nice.
Food was just okay, a single roll per dinner which is something I think Bob Evans just does but I truly hate, bring a basket and not count people's dinner rolls. I am guessing Bob Evans has cut some corners on recipes/vendors as it was good but felt lack luster or old food. My daughter got mac and cheese and it was cold, not even warm. She is a picky eater and refused it so no harm no foul just was disappointed that it had a chill. Chicken noodle deep dish didn't feel like I remembered it, soup seemed old or bottom of the barrel, tasted fine and I ate all but will note it seemed different than years ago and felt old.
Server was prompt and got us food quicker than we could eat the course before.
The only real awkward thing and maybe less awkward for my husband but a guest next to us was apparently a manager/was a manager/manages another store and loudly reprimanded the hostess about mopping the floor and that it is a slip risk. All the servers agreed and our server wouldn't come to our table directly because they didn't want to slip.
Sure it is slick when wet and I understand the safety concern but felt for the hostess and the awkward situation from coworkers and "a customer who is a manager" making a big fuss about it and dragging it out as he proceeded to check out and talk about it to her coworkers he approached.
Hope that hostess didn't feel embarrassed by it and it was still a teachable moment for safety but hope the staff and management handles it more delicately and less a scene next time. Maybe approach guests saying we are mopping and the floors get super slick please be careful.
Overall stay was good, food was okay and hopefully the awkward situation...
Read moreWe ordered coffee and water and my coffee was cold. The waitress did bring me a hot cup of coffee. Then we ordered our breakfast. Ordered our bacon well done and the ends of the bacon were not even cooked. My brioche French toast was dry and had egg burnt around the bottom of it. My friends was soggy and not cooked. My scrambled eggs were runny in some places. Our waitress did a good job and refilled our coffee and asked if we needed anything else. When we went to pay the bill I had an email that had a coupon for $3.00 off. I couldn’t get the coupon to open and asked what I needed to do. The manager said I needed to text Farm to get the coupon. I tried to explain that I had never had to text to get an email coupon before. He then asked me what I wanted him to do, Thankfully one of the waitresses had heard us talking. She got the coupon to come up and told him it had taken her 6 times to get it to come up. Thank you to that waitress for helping. He did use the coupon to give me the $3.00 off. The original checkout person said some coupons worked that morning but some didn’t. The manager, if he was the manager, came out of the kitchen and looked like he had been cooking. He needs to know how to get those coupons to come up. Is there a problem with the internet at this location? I have had trouble trying to check on something on the internet while I have been dining there. When I got home I clicked on the coupon on the email and it came right up. It would have been nice if the manager would have taken more off of our bill when he found out that it was not my fault that I couldn’t get the coupon to come up. My friend and I usually enjoy going there but it may be a long while before we return! He also didn’t give me the receipt that had all the information so that I could do the survey. I would like someone other than the person I dealt with this morning to get in...
Read moreFirst time back in a few years. During a week I pass through Marysville a few times. Today I felt like upping my fast food game to a sit down restaurant.
Delighted to see blueberry pancakes. Ordered same which came with four cakes and an abundance of tiny blueberries. Also added three sausage links. Those very good.
The pancakes are served with a glop of white artificial something. Scraped that off to get to the pancakes.
Well those turned out to be pasty cakes! Consistency was sort of fluffy but when cut they formed bits pieces and balls of dough. Suggest that BE take blueberry pancake lessons from Cracker Barrel. These even stuck to the knife similar to paste.
Ate two and took the other two to go….into the trash at home. Not worth trying to reheat and or reconstitute. Poor value.
Ice tea unsweetened ok but could have been darker and richer. In this serving of ice tea as well as at other restaurants I’ve noticed for some time that the tea comes with many bubbles in it and cling to the inside of the glass. I’m thinking that the only reason for bubbles is that the tea is being dispensed from a machine under force. Not the old way of filling a glass from a pitcher or through a dispensing gravity spout. So probably cost cutting.
My check out tick list a male name of Gregory while I was served by a female. For the four pancakes they are served with an incredibly small container of syrup that was barely enough to cover two let alone four. Perhaps they already know the last two will be discarded.
Perhaps I’ll try again at a later date but for now a return to the various fast food restaurants in the area.
I arrived about 9:30 AM and was impressed by the obviously large amount of prior business this morning. That observation based on the great number of finger prints on the glass panes of the front doors. From down low for the kids to way up high for adults. Perhaps...
