First off the name of the restaurant should be changed out of respect to the former good local Chinese restaurant. We looked forward to the restaurant reopening because we were told the cooks were staying and the food would be about the same. WRONG!! When we arrived in the parking lot we met one of the former owners. (We have been coming here for 40 years and he knew us well). We were told that he talked to past customers and they were not happy about the new place. One of the owners also runs the China Moon in marysville and we know this person to have the warmth of an ice cube. The other owner is from Sacramento and has told the cooks to cook his way. Entering we found miss warmth at the counter. No nice greeting one would expect from a newly opened business but she said to take any table. The restaurant had new floors but rerained some of the old lighting and wall paper. Booths and tables a little different but alot more recessed ceiling lights gave it a cold feeling we'd once it was warm and friendly. Food prices were much higher than before!!! OHHH NOOO!!! No beer or alcohol at all and that nice front counter is gone. Many 4 patrons inside but we decided to leave and have pizza. Too bad. But why screw with success!!!! If you want big city prices go to the big city. Oh yeah. By the way. Let's say the place does get lucky and has a busy night. Two waitresses...
Read moreWhen we were seated the woman just walked away with the menus and said in a short manner, “over here” set the menus down on the table and walked away. Food came out way too fast so obviously was not fresh. Paper wrapped chicken was balls of chewey meat with very little flavor. The chicken fried rice was bery bland and had small chuncks of dry chicken. My daughter’s boyfriend ordered shrimp chow mein which presented as a dark brown blob of noodles, crusted over and appearing had been reheated several times. The shrimp was mushy. My daughter said the white rice was good. 😂. I hadn’t been here in years and the quality of food has quite obviously diminished. No soup offered with meals or hot tea. We were celebrating my son’s birthday and had planned to go to Chinese Garden but they were closed. I complained and was able to get the shrimp chow mein taken off. Still paid $71.00. Will not be back. Surprisingly did not get sick from food. Kitchen looked cleaned when walking past outside entrance. When we got home my daughter said,”They didn’t even give us fortune cookies!” I agree Panda Express is even better! Shout out to Chinese Garden for preparing their food with flavor and obvious consistency of freshness compared to Chinese Garden. When I can afford it will be doing a “redo” at...
Read moreI don't usually leave bad reviews but this was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. The Panda Express or mall food court food tastes better. Overall it was extremely bland and overpriced for the poor quality. The Singapore fried rice had no flavor, and had hard grains of rice in it. We also ordered Mongolian chicken but they served beef; when the order was remade, it was tasteless. The hot and sour soup was neither hot nor sour and had pork in it despite my specifying no pork in my order. The service was also extremely slow, but that's because they only had one server for the whole restaurant and seemed short of staff in general, which I can understand these days. The only positive is the interior of the restaurant is actually decent looking. I would not at all recommend this...
