Waffle House — Restaurant in Marysville

The food: The food wasn’t the worst, waffle was a bit burnt. The sandwich I ordered, (Texas Bacon Chicken Melt) came on the wrong bun. The coffee was fresh, no complaints.

Service: The waitress (Kacey)was very nice and patient with my party of 4. She checked up on us a good amount of times, not too many not too little. The cook on the other hand, he had an attitude towards the waitress. Very unprofessional when you know you’re working in an establishment where the customers can see your every move. After I was already served my food I noticed he used the same gloves to touch raw meat and cooked meat. Those same gloves he used to handle other plates given to other customers. This is totally unacceptable. After he finally changed the gloves he started using his phone with the new gloves and when the phone was put down he went straight back to touching food without swapping gloves. This cook needs to be fired. Unacceptable in any kitchen regardless of the business. This is how bacteria is spread and people get food poisonings or sickness.

Atmosphere: The restaurant was clean for the most part. There was water leaking from the ceiling in multiple parts of the restaurant not sure why. The restaurant was rather chilly. Felt like maybe 65°. Bathrooms were clean, counters and tables were clean prior to us...

Walked in, plenty of seating available. Did NOT get greeted upon entering. Sat right at the high tops. Sat for 20 minutes before a server came to get our drink order after she greeted and took drink and food order of 2 tables that came in AFTER US! She tells us due to them being busy all night they can NOT take our food order for 30-40 minutes because they have to catch up on their dishes as they supposedly have none. THAT INFORMATION SHOULD HAD BEEN GIVEN AT THE TIME WE EITHER WALKED IN OR WHEN WE SAT DOWN!! Loretta was cussing up a storm due to dishes an other nonsense, Allie seemed out of it as if she was on drugs. The 2 people blonde lady and young dark hair man at the grill had no sense of urgency whatsoever. It was like watching a child cook. It was one item at a time on the grills. This staff is not suited for teamwork together, don't need these 4 during busy or slow peaks as they cannot keep up. Not customer friendly or even co worker friendly. You staff mornings with too many workers and they are the better staff and you leave the night shift with your not so productive staff leaving night shift to fail. We visited this, Marysville, Ohio Waffle House, July 23, 2019 at 10 PM. We usually get really fast courteous service there but, not last night. Usually get a hello/sit where you would like. Didn't even get eye contact. Waiter had 1 table of 2 customers in the whole place. Took him 10 to write down their order. We sat there for a good 20min. before he came and asked us what we wanted to drink. Was about to get up and leave at that point. Waited another 10 min. for him to come back and take our order. When he did bring it back was reaching over everybody's food, he had a big chew of what looked like tobacco in his lower lip. Which is disgusting. Had to use a knife cut and eat my scrambled eggs, all brown and caked together. Never came back once to offer drink refills either, or ask if we needed anything else. Another couple who came in after us, had to ask waiter 3 times for Apple butter. Cook chewed the waiter out in front of customers, which is very degrading, and made me uncomfortable.
