This is our new place to go for Chinese food. We have eaten there off and on over the years but have decided it’s probably the best in town. The buffet for lunch is only around $9 and $12.15 for dinner. I have seen reviews complaining about the rice or noodles being “old” but I have realized part of the issue is the shallow trays they have it in so the steam hardens the bottom and sides. I have learned to just ask for new rice or noodles and they are very accommodating. We went there this past Tuesday and they didn’t have the buffet because of the severe weather so we ordered from the menu. For $10.25 we got an entree, rice, soup and egg roll….i had the black pepper chicken and hubby had sweet and sour chicken. It was absolutely delicious! Some people are turned off by the lack of curb appeal but it is very clean inside although dated. I have never seen any evidence of bugs etc and one of the owners is constantly cleaning every time I’ve been there. Great food, large portions (if ordering from menu) and great prices...
Read moreWe have dined there several times in the past and been satisfied however today we went there& : when we got to the buffet there was an odd urine smell in one area. Hindsight I should have left, but i thought it may have been a nearby floor drain. We ate our first plate then when we went back my wife pointed out that the smell was coming from the shrimp ,crab meat & vegetable mix. Which we had already consumed some of. I pointed it out to the owner and she laughed and said it was fine. Another gentleman heard my complaint and agreed it smelled “not right” . She continued to giggle and walked away. It’s only been a hour since we ate and we are praying we don’t get food poisoning. They have always been pleasant people to deal with however we won’t be back, this is just poor judgment that makes me wonder if they are this negligent when 3 people have stated there is an issue , then how complacent are they in...
Read moreFood on the bar is "fresher" around high peak times of the day. We usually go after work, around 6:30 - 7 PM, and we have to order something cooked fresh from the menu, because most things on the bar are never fresh at that time.
This restaurant is just not busy enough throughout the day to be able to keep items on the bar fresh. I can understand from a $$$ point of view that they simply cannot throw out multiple pans of food that are still almost full, but some of the pans sit there for so long that I honestly think they turn the bar temp down, to keep the food from majorly over cooking. This results in old food that is actually COLD - straight from the bar....and that is plain gross, putting it mildly.
Makes me really miss CHINA TOWN !! Their bar was always fresh & delicious, no matter what time...
