My recent visit to Dairy Queen in Maryville, TN (July 22, 2023) left much to be desired. The drive-thru was busy, but we decided to try the dining room, only to encounter a scene of chaos and frustration.
As we walked in, we were met with the alarming sight of the kitchen staff engaged in a heated argument. They were screaming at each other, showing no consideration for the customers present. The exchange of foul language was simply unacceptable, and it created an uncomfortable atmosphere.
Our troubles continued when we tried to place our orders and ask a few questions about the blizzard ice cream flavors. The employee in the kitchen dismissed two of the flavors we were interested in, claiming that cotton candy and puppy chow were not very good choice.
After finally placing our orders, we eagerly waited for our Blizzards. However, the wait seemed interminable. When our ice creams finally arrived, they were brought to us alongside another customer's order, which led to confusion. The server seemed clueless, lost, unfriendly and btought the ice creams back to the service counter, completely ignoring our attempt to rectify the situation.
As the staff continued to argue amongst themselves, our ice creams sat melting away in the window. It was frustrating to see that they paid no attention to our plight. When we approached an employee about the issue, we were met with indifference and a dismissive attitude.
The lack of accountability was further highlighted when we sought to address the problem with the employee named Kyla. Instead of providing an apology or any form of understanding, she behaved rudely and refused to offer her name initially.
Eventually, we learned her name from another employee, but even then, Kyla showed no remorse for her behavior. Instead, she conveyed a condescending attitude and displayed a complete lack of customer service skills.
In conclusion, the experience at Dairy Queen in Maryville, TN was highly unsatisfactory. The chaotic and unprofessional behavior of the staff, particularly from employee Kyla, left us feeling disappointed and disheartened. It is regrettable that such a renowned establishment would allow such behavior to tarnish its reputation.

Read moreWent to DQ for lunch at 12:30 on 8/1/21. I ordered a 6 piece chicken strip basket with extra gravy and my friend ordered a fish sandwich with no lettuce but with extra tartar sauce and tomato. There was almost no one in the drive-thru and were no people in line and all the others in the dining area had been served but it still took 20 minutes to get our food. I assumed they had to cook it fresh but, when it came, this was not the case. They brought my basket and inside was half a handful of fries and my chicken strips, NOT freshly cooked. There was no gravy. I took it back to the counter and told them I wanted an "order" of fries, not those few they had thrown in. They took it back to the kitchen and added another half handful and brought me one gravy. I told them I had paid for extra gravy and they brought that. When I got back to my table I noticed there was no Texas toast so I took it back again. they brought out 2 barely toasted pieces of bread with no butter. My friend's fish sandwich had no tartar sauce, let alone extra sauce and they had put lettuce on it in spite of being asked to leave it off. This has been my experience the past few times I have eaten at this DQ. The last time we went thru the drive-thru and, fortunately, ate on the patio. I say fortunately because half our food was not in the order and none of the sauces. We were able to walk around to the window and get the rest of what they had left out. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat but it has become a rip-off. I don't know who is preparing these orders in the kitchen nor who is supposed to be checking these orders to make sure they are correct but neither are doing their job. I hate to complain, but this is ridiculous. I calmly talked with the counter girl about this before I left. I am not sure I will...
Read moreThe customer service was one of the worst I’ve experienced in some time. I realize a lot of young people are working because it is summer but I would hope they would get told by management how to greet a customer and how to interact. If this person is unable to do that put them in the back. This girl greeted us with “what?” As she was finishing a conversation with another coworker. She was not attentive at all. We repeated our selfs numerous times. I ordered food while the rest of my family ordered blizzards. My food took twice as long as the blizzards. Once I got it the food was cold. I brought it to the counter and asked to speak with a manager. I was very polite for I have worked in the food industry and know the rudeness and impatient people. The manager was also very nice and offered to give me something free. He took my food back while I walked back to my table. I get back and sit down and he’s back already.. my food is the same temp and a part of it is missing. I should’ve went back up and requested freshly made but I was starving for this was my dinner. He did give me a free cone card but all I wanted was my food hot. I then witnessed another co worker bring a dipped cone to a young boy. She said this in a serious tone. She was not joking. “You better be careful eating that. I don’t wanna have to clean it up.” I just was not impressed at all with the customer service. I luckily don’t live here but it does stink that the time with my family was runined by something so...
