We stopped here after reading a few positive reviews from people in a Facebook foodie group. The pepper jack crab soup is fantastic. It's rich, creamy and had lots of crab in it. I had a burger in special. It was a burger with BBQ sauce, onion rings, cheddar cheese and ham. The burger was perfectly cooked. I got the sweet potatoe fries with their house made marshmallow dip. I liked the dip, though it is very sweet. My wife had their Southwest chicken salad. The chicken was tender and perfectly cooked. It's definitely not the pre cooked diced chicken you get at lots of places. The salad was tasty, though it could've had a bit more of the black beans and corn in it. Overall we were pleased. The service was fantastic, prompt and friendly. The food came out quickly even though it was a busy Saturday afternoon.

First Visit, pleasantly surprised! Great atmosphere, very nicely greeted, many 4 chair tables, interesting bar, great menu, mid price range, they have a One LB Burger on the burger selections! Seasoned fries were Awesome as was the Grilled Chicken Rollup!! Total seating appeared to be 60+! Location is just half a block off the Courthouse Square!! A Must to return!!! S.

I've eaten here many times while visiting Mason and the food has never disappointed, the servers are attentive, and with the new section opening several years ago, plenty of seating, even for larger parties (we've even had informal class get togethers). Try the olive burger (I customize with grilled onions & mushrooms, no bun) and sweet potato fries....hard to beat!

I really wanted to like this place, but the food and overall experience fell short for me.

We ordered the steak appetizer with garlic bread. The bread had an odd taste and texture, and the steak was extremely tough, chewy, and fatty. I actually had to spit out one bite because it got stuck in my braces. I only managed a bite or two. When my entrée arrived, it turned out to be the same steak, with the same issues – gristly, difficult to cut, and lacking flavor. Unfortunately, I couldn’t eat it.

Our server was friendly and did remove my entrée from the bill, which I appreciate. However, she repeatedly mentioned that we had eaten all of the steak appetizer, which wasn’t accurate. My husband ate most of it; I barely touched mine, so that felt a bit uncomfortable to hear multiple times.

Seating was also an issue. The restaurant says “seat yourself,” and we unknowingly picked a spot where the floor dips. With mobility limitations, it was extremely uncomfortable and difficult to sit there. Clearer guidance would help guests pick a suitable spot.

For the price point, I expected better quality. The menu leans toward the higher end for bar-style food, so the tough steak and lack of flavor were disappointing.

The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff was nice, but based on the food quality, comfort level, and price, I don’t plan...

TERRIBLE service. My friend had a beer spilled on her by the bartender and was told she had to pay for the new beer AND the beer that the bartender spilled. After politely saying she didn't think it was fair that she had to pay for a drink that was spilled BY THE BARTENDER, the bartender told her that it was actually HER fault the drink spilled and that if she didn't want to pay she had to leave. That's right, she was KICKED out of the bar for not paying for a drink that the BARTENDER spilled on her. She walked out of he bar with a soaked shoe, wet pants and shirt, and a dripping purse. They then proceeded to call other local bars and tell them not to serve us. To help you understand a little more, my friend NEVER even touched the beer. It wasn't even set down in front of her, but to the side. She was nowhere near it until the bartender knocked it over and it flowed down and over the edge of the bar onto her. The bartender never even apologized.

I refuse to return to this establishment and if you'd like to have a nice experience, I'd suggest a...

Beware people! The food was ok, nothing spectacular, but when i paid the bill using my credit card they added, without comment or warning, a 4% service fee!!! The server enlisted the aid of a manager, when I questioned the charge, who said they had been doing it for a few years and didn't bother to mention it now. She classified it as a small fee of 3%. Apparently math isn't her long suit. There was a typewritten 8.5x11 "notice" on the wall half a room away! She said "most businesses in town are doing the same thing." Back to the junior high kitsch of everybody says, is doing or thinking the same thing. Then she insulted me by saying i could go across the street to an atm to get the money. Really??? Not everyone uses a card because they don't have the cash. Many use it to track expenses. I simply handed her the cash. What a simpleton. It wasn't busy and now i know why. There are many other, better places to...
