The food was average. The service less so. I was served my food, never offered a warm up or refill on my coffee, (even though a gal did pass through with the coffee pot) I was checked back on once prior to requiring a refill and was promptly left the bill. When I called and asked to speak to a manager I was asked, "What about" I stated my experience today and was told, "They are busy and can't come to the phone" This was stated without even questioning if someone could come to the phone. When I approached to pay my bill I was not greeted, asked about my meal or even told to have a good day. I simply was told the amount of my change. A better response from the person who answered the phone might have been to ask for a number where I could be reached and to have management return my call. Overall, staff was too busy talking among themselves and chatting with folks that I suspect are their regulars. I would not have bothered with a review except for the response of the individual who answered when I called. Additional training for staff regarding customer service would be of benefit to a charming but average...

This diner is a MUST SEE & EAT experience. The staff is great and it is a small local diner. Being from Iowa, they made me feel right at home as I entered the diner. The portion sizes are BIG, I had the sausage & gravy and also ordered the CLUB SANDWICH for lunch. Their club sandwich is huge! Haven't tasted it yet but I know it will be GREAT! Thank you guys for bringing me back home with your vibrant atmosphere. This place is definitely going to be a regular for me when I want some good breakfast!! I am already talking about it with everyone at work, I appreciate all that you do and continuing your passion after being open for 30+ years. The chef is great at his craft and I was also recommended the " Beef Hash" next time I visit by one of the regular's. We were excited to try the depot for lunch while antique shopping. We sat down and waited for menus. About 10 minutes later another couple sat down at the booth next to us. A server gave them menus and took their drink order immediately. The server then set down menus on our table and said she would be back but after another 10 minutes of waiting, she never came back. In the meantime, the couple who came in after us, got their drinks and placed their order. Twenty minutes with nothing but a couple menus dropped on the table even though they weren't very busy plus seeing people that came in after us getting served. That was it, we got up and left.
