I've passed by many times over the years & finally stopped by last night. I wanted some veggies before I hit the gym. However, I saw on the outside board that there was a grilled chicken livers special & thought I'd try it since it came with two sides.

The gentleman who took my order was very nice. He tried to coax me to order whatever I wanted, but I guess I convinced him that I was being strict with the veggies, saying ok, no bread. Lol I paid for my order & went to Harris Teeter to pick up a few things. I believe he said my order would be ready in 10 minutes.

When I returned, he seemed concerned. He said he'd been looking for me because they ran out of chicken livers. He apologized more than once. I told him not to worry about it as I was only trying them because of the special. I just wanted something warm as it was chilly outside. I ordered a veggie plate with cabbage, fried okra, & fried zucchini. He gave me $5 back, the difference between my first order and my veggie plate.

It didn't take long for my order to come out. I splurged on the fried veggies; hadn't had fried zucchini before. Everything was good & filling. It could've used a little seasoning. I'm a fan of pepper, especially on the cabbage. The order hit the spot, kept me warm, & was just enough before the gym. Will return to try...

Miki's has been a cherished spot for my in-laws for many years. After the passing of my father-in-law last year, my mother-in-law, now in her 80s, still adores dining here. For her birthday, my wife decided to take her back to this beloved restaurant. This was my first visit, and I immediately understood its appeal.

The restaurant is a small, cozy, simple, and casual place with a charming down-home atmosphere and down-home comfort food. I thoroughly enjoyed the salmon cake and my three veggie sides: broccoli, cucumber and onion, and cole slaw. The service was excellent—the food came out quickly, and the waitstaff was very attentive.

Though I don't eat dessert, everyone else in our party of six raved about it—especially the amazing coconut cake—which, along with the strawberry cake (which sadly, they didn't have that day), is my family's favorite! I heard my mother and father-in-law talk about it many times over the years. The strawberry and coconut cakes might be what kept them going back!

Based on this experience, I believe we will continue the tradition and make Miki's a go-to place for our...

I have eaten at Miki's twice now I love it. Mickey and his wife give awesome customer service not to mention the food is delicious. The first time I went I had country-style steak over rice macaroni and cheese and fried zucchini my mom also ordered the fried squash and my dad ordered the fried okra so we had a sample of everything and they were all wonderful but my favorite was the fried zucchini. the country-style steak was delicious, I have had country-style steak everywhere it's one of my favorites but this was the best. The macaroni and cheese is homemade creamy and yummy. Today when I went I ordered the chicken quesadilla which comes with green peppers mushrooms and cheese, it was also very good the the tortilla was Crisp but not to Crisp and the chicken was tender and juicy my family and I will be back at Miki's many times if you haven't...

I have been wanting to try here for the longest and finally got a chance to today. What made me come was the fact that they are an old school, home cooking type of restaurant and the menu reflects. I had a taste for hamburger steak smothered in onions and gravy over rice and they definitely delivered. Along with it, I got cabbage, yams, stewed apples and fried squash and they gave me cornbread and rolls. Now the apples could've been seasoned a bit and the steak and gravy needed a touch of salt, but I knew what to expect once entering the place and seeing their regular customers. When entering the guy at the front looked at me as if I was lost, which looking around I definitely did not fit in, but who cares I was there for the food. The food was delicious and plenty for the price I paid so I will go back. Just remember to have me a little salt to add.
