One our 7th day of our 20 day trip of island hopping.... We were looking for something that the kids would eat! We drove by the Maui Harbor Shops and saw a pizza sign. Decided to stop because the kids like pizza. When we walked into the door..."I thought the kids may not like this?" We were greeted by the waiter and the "mastermind" behind the counter! We looked over the menu which was priced a little high, but not overly high for a "tourist trap" (the aquarium and a major whale watching tour spot is there). When the chef brought out the food... I was very unsure if the kiddos would eat...it was so different from any other pizza that they have ate. I asked my kiddos to have open mind and try it. We dished out 1 slice to each of them....before we knew it they quickly grabbed for another and then another. At that time the Chef came back with a second pizza because didn't like how the first one came out! The second pie was just as amazing as the first one! Never in my life have my kids ate so much pizza we had zero leftovers. (Thank God for the second pizza) Everyday since, our son has asked to go back and have pizza again. I would highly encourage you to stop and have the same encounter we did. Listening to the "Pizza Mastermind's" story of how he came to Maui was the best and finding out that this place was only opened a few days before...
Read moreSo the pizza was pretty solid, but this place is probably best for take out, if anything. The dining experience was not so good. First of all, according to our server, they don’t serve any drinks except for water (despite displaying canned soda and kombucha in the hosting area). I was hoping to split a pizza with someone but was told by the server it is recommended we each order our own. I thought $30 - $40 for a personal pie is pretty steep, so decided to split one and possibly order more if we felt compelled to do so. Eating 2/3 of one was enough for us. We had to ask for Parmesan and peppers, which at most dine-in pizza places is already on the table when you first sit down or at least brought out with the pizza. More than anything, though, we just got really weird vibes from our server. It was really off putting and made us feel uncomfortable being there. I know it’s a relatively new place, which typically requires working out some kinks, but they could really benefit from improving the in-dining experience, especially expanding the menu to include drinks, and adding more diverse...
Read moreJohnny’s heist pizza was a TREMENDOUS experience. I was rather seasick as I walked thru the charmingly decorated doors, yet I was instantaneously cured of my nausea upon sniffing the mouth watering scent that is Johnny’s heist pizza & bbq. I quickly took a seat at a round and stylish table and ordered a meat lovers pizza, which came topped with an assortment of tender provisions that would make even a devout vegans mouth water. It came quick too, I’d say quicker than a bounding gazelle fleeing a hungry lion, I was also served a delightful carton of ‘yoohoo chocolate drink’ which was absolutely divine. I also came out of this experience with a boost in my self esteem, with the tray the pizza was served on giving me many compliments and reassurances such as “I love you” and “sexy”. It also made me feel fancy, with forks of gold. Overall this experience is a definite 5/5 experience and would recommend to anybody...
