I'm going to be real here. We did the RTH, hit up the usual recommended sights, and built up and appetite timed perfectly to make Poke Bob's hit the spot for lunch. Sadly, despite our hunger giving the advantage to make nearly any food taste amazing, Poke Bob fell far short of our expectations.
The Poke itself was OK. Better than some from the mainland, but not better than other Maui spots for sure. It's standard Maui poke with fresh greens and rice. I'm sure the ahi is fresh, but that's all my bowl had going for it. There was no avocado, no nothing else. Portion was on the small side, and price was high. I typically eat on the blander side when it comes to steaks and chops, but the kabob was bland to me and chewy with only a few slices of veggies to complement the tough, under seasoned tri-tip. Sushi burrito is just a basic sushi burrito.
What's worse is the wait and the environment directly around this truck. We waited about 20 minutes for the food. Legit 20+ minutes. Add in the pungent trash like smell directly around Poke Bob's truck, and it was an awful experience just waiting for the food.
Despite the smell, we moved away, waited the 20 minutes, and excitedly dug into our food at a far away table only to be disappointed. When you eat this level of food coming from an establishment that reeks of trash, it's frustrating to see the following notification from your CC purchase alerts: "You made a $73.95 transaction with POKE BOBS on Jul X, 2025."
$74 for mid poke, 2 bad kabobs, and basic sushi burrito. No drinks, no fixings on the poke. It's expensive, and totally not worth the money. You can get similar (IMO better) poke from Foodland even if their ahi is previously frozen.
Eat here if you're desperate, but I think you'll be better served getting huli huli chicken at one of the other stops before Waiʻānapanapa State Park or past Hana, because we were so disappointed in the food from Poke Bob's we still ate at Nahiku Marketplace on the way back to town. Yes, we whet our appetite with Poke Bob's (I wasn't about to waste that 74 dollar rip-off) and still enjoyed the chicken from Nahiku way more than that meal from Poke Bob's.
Edit: I appreciate Bob's response and willingness to address the issues from our visit. If we were still in the area I would give him another chance and try, but we were already back in Lahaina that evening and don't have plans to be in Hana until...
Read moreLoved this stop at the end of our day! Although I recommend getting there a little earlier in the afternoon as they run out of some items, makes sense it's tasty! Our bad for being late.
This is a mix of poke bowl or burrito option and then grilled options (kebobs and sides). They have chicken, steak, shrimp AND a veggie option. The kebob plate is generous in size with rice, salad and two kebobs. The grilled pineapple (on kebob or as a side, you'll probably want extra) is delicious.
We got a poke bowl (so good, buttery delicious fish) which was my personal favorite poke of the current visit and a chicken kebob plate. Chicken had lots of flavor and was cooked perfectly.
Super sweet (couple?) Run the joint. Also they have an adorable dog (outside the truck) that was very sweet.
Highly recommend after a day in Hana (or to start your day). Also go over to two trucks over for some Thai iced tea. Super good.
Flies were a little intense in the truck lot (just the nature of the area) so you can take food to go or just deal with it (we dealt, it's fine but some may...

My husband and I recently drove the unforgettable Road to Hana — a journey filled with hairpin turns, waterfalls, and jaw-dropping views. But the true highlight of our adventure came at the end: discovering Poke Bob’s.
Let me just say this — these are hands down the BEST poke bowls on the entire island. Every ingredient tasted incredibly fresh, from the perfectly seasoned ahi to the vibrant veggies and house-made sauces. You can tell everything is made from scratch with care and aloha. The balance of flavors was spot-on — light, refreshing, and absolutely delicious.
After such a thrilling and, at times, nerve-wracking drive, our reward was sitting down to the most satisfying meal of our trip. My husband and I still talk about it, and we’re already planning to do the whole Road to Hana again just to get another bowl (or three) from Poke Bob’s.
If you're doing the Road to Hana, don’t miss this food truck. It’s not just a meal — it’s...
