I will say, all the food we got here was very good. I got the white truffle burrata and spicy seafood pasta - the pasta was amazing and had a great kick. The burrata was also good but I didn't taste any truffle.
All of my following comments will be about the service we received. We came with a big party of 11 and they sat us at two different tables. After sitting down, we realized they could have easily pulled up a couple more tables and allowed us to all sit together but I get it, it's a small space and we were a big group.
The owner was our server and he was VERY slow/inattentive but a few other servers also helped us. It seems like the husband and wife owners were all about cultivating a good relationship with customers, talking to them for 5-10 minutes each time they came to their tables. At one point, I observed a server watching the owners speaking to two different tables and they were oblivious to her. While the owners love to chat, they were constantly too distracted to focus on a task at hand (putting in orders, getting the bill, bringing out glasses/water, etc...) Because of this, the service here was very slow.
We got our meals around the same time but one person in our party had to wait 15+ minutes for their plate - I find that unacceptable. And even when we told the owner, it still took 10+ minutes for it to come out. Then, we had to ask for our bill 3 times, and it took the server over half an hour from when we originally asked for it for her to deliver it to us - she kept getting side tracked with all her little side conversations.
The main issue we ran into was with our second table - they were served a mysterious salad that no one ordered. Both our tables kept denying the salad but they still placed it at the table. (Every employee we encountered was ESL). At the end of our meal, when our second table got their bill, they found out that the restaurant double charged them for every line item INCLUDING the mysterious salad that no one ordered. When they brought back a corrected bill, we realized they also overcharged us for desserts (+$1 on our 2 desserts) and the owner's response was "are you really going to make me rerun your bill for $2?" And regarding the salad, since we didn't think it was our mistake since we (1) didn't order it, (2) rejected it when they brought it out - we wanted to take that charge off our bill and the owner's response to this was "but you ate it, didn't you?" Needless to say, customer service was VERY lacking when we collectively spent over $1200 over multiple appetizers, desserts, and...
Read moreWe came in last night without a reservation and we’re asked to wait ten minutes for a table which we gladly did. We were seated outside after 20 minutes and then completely ignored for a half hour. Finally the hostess came out and apologized and offered to take a drink order to “get things back on track”. We told her we were ready to order our food as well and she obliged. The wine menu is very limited, they only offer house wines by the glass with no mention of where they are from or the producer so you take your chances on paying $16 which we did. Our wines and our order of appetizer meatballs and a very small Cesar salad with 3 tiny shrimp came out fairly fast. After that we never saw a server or the host again. My husband went inside after we sat with empty glasses and dirty plates for 40 minutes and inquired about a check, and everyone ignored him. Another host came out and asked what we needed and he tried handing her his Amex card and she just said “no Amex”. She asked if we could pay visa or cash and I told her we would be happy to if they could provide our check for us so we knew what the total was. Ridiculous. Ten minutes later we got the bill. We were there for one glass of wine each and one appetizer and a salad and we finally were able to pay the bill after 2 hours. No apologies, no manager to visit the table, no explanation about why we never even had a server. While there we witnessed a couple waiting to place a take out order for at least 45 minutes and getting ignored. Another couple was sat outside and not greeted for at least 30 minutes. If they were so busy that they couldn’t accommodate any of us why ask us to wait, we could have easily gone elsewhere nearby and been served with Aloha. We give two stars because the meatball appetizer was good. The salad was not, and at $26 kinda shameful when the raw food cost is less than $5. Our bill with Tax was $90 and included two glasses of mediocre mystery house wine and the two appetizer dishes. Very overpriced. No value, no service, mid food is not what we have come to...
Read moreThis was our first time to The Pour House. We were greeted as we walked up to the hostess. We were a little early as our day went by faster than we expected, but they were accommodating and sat us right away. We were asked for proof of vaccination prior to sitting inside. Not to jump a head, but this hostess was a boss. As she had to deal with people wanting to be seated, but couldn’t as it was reservation only and their bar is still temporarily closed. Also, she had to uphold the current Covid rules for inside dinning and had to have a few hard conversations with the potential customers. I give kudos to the young lady for holding her own.
As for dinner the services was pretty good. We would have said great, but as the place started to get busy, we were forgotten about/rushed out. Other than that the waitress was spot on and accommodating. Our water was never empty, our food was timely, and our drinks were never empty. The food was good. Ironically the appetizer, burrata with pears and honey, we should have gotten for dessert. It had all the right tastes for it. The pesto cesar salad was tasty, but lacked a little on the shrimp. Couldn’t put our finger on it, but it just wasn’t quite right. Maybe should have been warm versus cocktail style. Dinner coarse was solid as both my wife and I liked our choices. She chose the chicken skewers and I had the lobster raviolis. The raviolis could have used more lobster, but I think everyone would say that. Lastly, dessert. Tiramisu was the second best we have ever had. That to us says a lot as we have travel near and far for a good Tiramisu. As for our second choice, the panda cotta would have been great, but the olive oil though traditional was a little over powering. Without that though it was good!
Overall this is a great spot and we would...
