Driftwood Maui — Local services in Maui

EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF! Owner of the store has her friends writing good reviews for her store because they are currently being sued and looking at filing for bankruptcy. Don't be fooled with these short and meaningless reviews written by ghosts!

I spoke to the owner carrie and now I know why ALL her employees are all the same (rude, disrespectful, lack follow through, poor customer service, unprofessional) because they are all just like her! She is NOT LOCAL so you are not supporting local businesses by shopping here. Maybe if she picked up on the Hawaii culture and learned respect and aloha she wouldn't have a failing business. Placed an order online, received it on Saturday and as soon as I opened the package, I noticed the crochet bikini was already falling apart!!! Called as soon as I found out and spoke to a rude employee who spoke over me the whole phone conversation and was no apologetic or sincere about their error. She didn't even ask me what was wrong with the bikini. I asked to speak to her manager and she rudely said she isn't in today. I asked if she could have her or the owner call me. I gave her my name and number and she said a manager would call me by Monday. Monday rolls around and the manager DID NOT call. I called again and talked to the manager and she asked me to send photos of the bikini that's falling apart, which I did. Rachael is the manager I spoke to and assured me she would speak to the owner today and give me call back by the end of business day. Again, SHE DID NOT CALL OR EMAIL BACK! What does her job entail as a "manager" if she can't even do as she says?

Owner carrie, sells damaged goods and does not hold herself accountable to the c* she sells. She sold me clothes that were already falling apart and I couldn't see it for myself before buying it because it was an online order. Instead of being apologetic and understanding she says "well we don't provide refunds and it was a final sale item". Well had i known you were selling me s* that was already falling apart before I tried them on then I wouldn't have bought them!!! To top it off she tries to say "it happens to crochet all the time, just tie a knot in it". Look at the pictures I have attached. The crochet is very delicate and intricate. There's no way you can just tie a knot in it! Furthermore, if it's already falling apart already who's to say that it's not going to just rip to shreds when I try it on?! I guess maybe that's why she decided to open her own business because she lacks the common sense to work at any where else! In addition, she has the audacity to send me the link to her exchange policy, which by the way does not specify what will happen if she purposely sends me defective, poor quality, damaged products!!!

There are a lot of other boutiques out there that actually have respect for their customers and value their business. I guess carrie's business is struggling to make ends meet and has to operate in such an unethical, unprofessional, and dishonest fashion. Boutique Hilo, or other boutiques on Oahu like fighting eel and bamboo sky are similar boutiques and none of them operate in this manner. I suggest shopping there instead, where you will be valued and respected as a customer.

Maybe carrie can use the $170 I paid for nothing and use it to take a business class so she can learn about CUSTOMER SERVICE and PROFESSIONALISM! I'll consider this as charity for an individual who is clearly in need of...

I absolutely love shopping at Driftwood. Carrie, the owner, is one of the most thoughtful, intelligent and inspiring female Mom-preneurs on Maui and I love to stop by to support her and her team. Carrie works so hard to present a top-notch, high quality experience for customers, and has the most IMPECCABLE taste in everything fashion, home, you name it. The staff is always helpful, the selections are absolutely top-notch, and everything is presented beautifully in a welcoming environment - with PARKING, which is UNHEARD of in busy lil' Makawao. For birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine's Day, my husband knows that he can buy me ANYTHING at Driftwood and I will be thrilled with whatever the gift might be. I absolutely love Driftwood Maui in Makawao, Maui, HI! Carrie has been a neighbor, friend, and yoga student for 20 years and I have long admired her sense of style. When she said she was going to open a store filled with her favorite things, I knew it would be a hit. The store is beautifully curated and features things in all price points. The service is friendly and I always have a relaxed shopping experience there.
