Missing order-rude employees and manager! Refuse to acknowledge that their staff did not include all our food item in our order! Do not do take out or delivery. They said it’s your fault for not digging through a hot boil seafood bag to check your order. This place is literally stealing and will proudly say, they’re not responsible for your order if anything is missing. We placed order to go of dungeon crab, 2 order of crawfish, shrimps, clams, sausage, potatoes and corn. Went home and our dungeon crab were missing in the mixed of all our order. We give them a call to let them know that we had a missing order, the staff who answer the phone was rude and say did we even check our order before we leave. I told her I lifted the bag up to see and it’s a hot boiling bag of all the items I order. So, I assumed it’s all there. It’s hot we’re not going to open and dig our hand in to look for every item. She said to speak to her manager. So, I did. The manager had the same rude attitude of; oh well, should have check your order. I once again told him it’s a big of hot mixed seafood of multiples items, how do I inspect every item. Unless you have each of my item in a separate bag, then yes. But, you did not. He said there’s nothing he can do bc it’s our fault. I have never seen such good services that is this rude. They never told us check the item before you leave and if you leave any missing item will be on you. Then, I would ask for them to take it back and separate each item. He also said, they’re not accountable because what if we lie? Excuse me, if I would to lie I would lie on a bigger order, not a 1item that is $15.99. If I lie why not lie on multiple items. So, they fail to properly prepare the food, refuse to apologize and now accuse customers of lying over 1 order that they did not put in. I would never recommend this place. Staff are rude and they will not take responsibility for not giving you your food. Beware! We will not be back. With this kind of attitude and failure to acknowledge that they were in the wrong. This same franchise is in NC and every time we place a big order like this, they always separated our order into multiple bag, and show each of our items to us because they want to make sure we have our order. This place is a scam. They just give you one boiling hot seafood bag and if you have missing item. Oh well, too bad. This is a scam, because if you have nothing to hide, you wouldn’t have such nasty attitude when customers call to let you know that there is missing item. Do not bother, take your money...
Read moreWe wanted to take my dad here for his birthday on Saturday. We called ahead to make a reservation because there were nine people in our group, but we were assured we did not need a reservation, even with the 50% capacity limit, they said they would be able to seat us no problem. When we arrived, the host first tried to seat all of us in a booth. While we were trying to be accommodating and awkwardly squeeze into a booth by the bathroom, a manager came over and directed her to seat us at another table. We picked up and started to move, thinking we were moving right over to another table, then they told us to wait in the tiny front entrance area. We stood there for about 10 minutes before the host came over again and said that they only had one table that was big enough to accommodate our party and it was taken and they had already seated the booth where they had us before, so our options were to wait for the people who had the big table, who had just ordered their drinks, or split up into two groups at separate booths that were spaced 6 feet apart. Now, I am aware of the spacing and seating situation in restaurants right now, but I'm pretty sure the deal is that each separate party has to be 6 feet apart, not that you have to skip every other table or booth. I asked why we were moved from our first table if there was not another table available, and the host kept telling me that they had to have every other table blocked off. That was not what I was asking. I am totally understanding of the coronavirus situation, but why have us move back and forth across the restaurant and crowd up your front entrance? Why not just tell us straight up at the beginning that you didn't have room? We ended up leaving and going to Tipsy Taco, they were very accommodating and responsible with their seating and service. The only reason my rating is two stars and not one is because I didn't even get to try their food so I don't know if it's...
Read moreI was disappointed by my experience here. I ate at The Juicy Crab several times and fell in love with seafood boil - the flavors, spices, and heat of the thick, buttery sauce poured over shrimp, potatoes and corn was to die for! However, the quality of the food here at Crab Du Jour does not compare. We came on a Friday evening around 6 and it was very crowded, but there was no wait for us. We were seated quickly. Our server was as attentive as she could be with serving so many tables at once. I ordered a seafood boil with shrimp (heads off) and snow crab legs. I got a lemon pepper sauce with a medium heat level.
There was absolutely ZERO LEMON PEPPER FLAVOR AND ZERO SPICE to the sauce. Instead, everything just tasted like butter and the sauce was extremely watery. The crab legs were SO thin and tiny with barely any meat to them. The shrimp was okay, but I had to peel them myself. The potato, corn, and egg were all delicious.
At The Juicy Crab, the sauce was THICKER, with that very distinct lemon pepper taste, and the medium heat level had just enough spice to leave my tongue tingling in the way I like it to. The shrimp was also peeled!
Leaving the shell on the shrimp keeps the sauce from truly seeping into the shrimp and giving it flavor! Ultimately, was it okay? Sure, but it would have been better if it'd had a chance to soak up some flavor from the sauce... although the sauce needs some work...
We did order a few drinks from the bar and those were good, but they were the best part of the meal. My mother got the seafood platter - it was okay, but not their specialty (although neither is the seafood boil it seems).
Unfortunately, there isn't any other competition in this area, so Crab Du Jour has zero incentive to be better. I really wish The Juicy Crab hadn't closed...
