Went with a friend who offered to buy us dinner after he had a bad day at work. I was not hungry but wanted to order something small because all their portions are too big for me here and I am a small person. Tried to order the Silver 5 off the kids menu because it looked like just the right amount of food, but the waitress wouldn't let me because supposedly the owner wouldn't like it. What kind of horsesh*t is that?
So I ordered a couple pancakes instead, though I really would have preferred the small amount of food which provided a wider array of nutritional value (due to it including a little bit of eggs and a piece of bacon). And no, cost had nothing to do with my choice because my friend was paying anyways. I would have been willing to pay extra as an adult for the smaller portions.
Only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the food was delicious and the waitress was fairly accommodating. I was trying not to be salty with her because she was real nice and offered me a small discount, and we made sure to tip her for her efforts.
But seriously, unless you guys are taking an enormous loss on selling kids food, maybe find some other solution that doesn't require denying a customer something from the menu. I've worked both as a server and in business management, so I know that the customer is not always right and not entitled to be accomodated at every whim, but this is just stupid. At least offer an up-charge for adults ordering on the menu and don't be such a scumbag about it. Because:
You don't actually know who that order is for. There could be a kid at home or something, and assuming you know who is going to even eat it is just unfathomably idiotic. And,
The cooks get the order on what to make, they don't know who it's for, the manager doesn't know, the owner doesn't know. No one ACTUALLY knows who is the meal is for except the customer. Don't think you're so smart.
Maybe have your servers offer the option of half-sized portions for half price when some adult wants to order off the kids menu.
I won't be coming back to this location. I have been to IHOPs all over the country, and often times it is my old mother who orders the kids meals, but no one has ever given her a hard time for it. So I don't know what your age discrimination problem is, or what is causing...

We waited 27 minutes for someone to come to our table to take our drink orders then, waited another 11 minutes for her to actually bring our drinks. She asked if we were ready to give our menu orders, we said, "Yes". She immediately said that she would give us a couple more minutes to look over our menus then she walked off in a hurry. I told my daughter that we should just leave and go somewhere else instead but, my daughter said just wait and see how long it will take for our waitress to actually come back to our table. It took 13 minutes for her to come back. By then I really wanted to leave because of bad service. My daughter gave her and the boy's orders and, against my better judgement, I gave mine. 16 minutes later our waitress finally came to our table with only two of the food items that we ordered. After 32 minutes, she brought the rest of our orders and walked away. She did NOT bring silverware, napkins or condiments that we asked for. Another waitress saw what was going on and came to the rescue. The tissue wrapped silverware that was brought to our was damp and still covered in some other diners' food off their plate. I flagged another waitress down and asked if we could get plastic eating utensils to eat with. She brought the plastic and apologized for the dirty silverware. By then, our food had turned cold. Our waitress did NOT come back until she saw that we were ready to leave and she gave me the bill. She stood by our table thinking that I was going to give her a tip. I tipped the other waitresses that actually came to our table to do the job that the original waitress did NOT do! The 3 hours we spent waiting to get service, silverware, drinks and cold food was ABSOLUTELY NOT worth...
Read moreDecided to place an online order. As i was finishing up the options it had me choose from either carry out or curbside. I chose curbside. It let me know to press a button stating when i was otw. I did so, and the. pressed the button when i arrived. It even had me pick my car description and color. Once i parked in the literal curbside pick up parking spots in the front i proceeded to wait 10 minutes then 15 minutes. as it was a sunday morning and i knew service is busy. I then called twice, it went syafubjt to voicemail and nobody answered even though it says call if there’s any issues. It’s not even set up. Nobody came even then and i knew i would have to go in. I walked up to the counter and stated that i placed a curbside and it’s been over 15 minutes and nobody has brought my food. the host said that they do not have curbside. I asked how? when it’s an option online and yall literally have signs outside that say “curbside”? she said oh i don’t know ??? i said ok, said my name and she got my order. Before handing it over she asks if i paid? there’s no way to place a whole order online and not pay?? especially when i asked for it to curbside but yall somehow don’t have that? her demeanor was rude and curt as if im supposed to know that when the website gave me the option. I walked away from her and said nothing. 0/10 do not recommend, horrible customer service and speed. my food was cold...
