Magnolia — Restaurant in Maynard

we have been going to Magnolia since the first day it opened.... at first things were a little rough but we just chocked it up to the staff being new. Magnolia has been open 2 years now and has made some improvements and gone backwards on some things. the service has got better, the food is still very good but the portions have shrank. the one thing that has been bad form day one is the stuff that goes with the meal.. the pu pu platter used to be 4 terriaki,6 chicken fingers, 6 chicken wings, spare ribs, crab rangoon and 2 egg rolls, now it's 2 teriyaki , 4 chicken fingers, 4 wings, spare ribs, crab rangoon and 2 eggrol... but the price has stayed pretty much the same .. the duck sauce is terrible, very watery and no flavor...the hot mustard is very watery and not hot. i guess the part that really bothered me is we tried to talk to our server who i think was one of the owners and i don't think she understood a...

Finally had a chance to try Magnolia! I ordered the Magnolia sampler, which is basically your run of the mill pupu platter. The spareribs are some of the best I've ever had, however the chicken wings were not quite as good as its predisessor, China Ruby. I also indulged in the Sesame Chicken which was one of my Go-to's at the Ruby and they knocked it out of the park! ( And I don't mean the tiny park across the street because that would be less than impressive! ) The decor was a huge improvement and the staff were very polite and I got a vibe that a family was running the business together which I loved. I will be back for seconds...

Food was ok, ordered something that was advertised on the menu and apparently its not a common thing to tell people that the item you ordered was unavailable because ten minutes later the item was yet to arrive at my table and I was informed that they “didn’t have it” which I found hard to believe because it was right in front of me on the menu. I was also greeted with another tables meal by accident and the waitress knew but didn’t bother saying anything until I mentioned it did not taste like the item I ordered.
