I stopped by to pick up some pastries this morning, but I was really tempted by the atmosphere, so I stayed for brunch. The place is beautiful. It has a clean, modern look that still feels homely and welcoming. The staff is very knowledgeable about the offerings and very attentive as well. I had the Duck Carnitas. The duck was cooked perfectly, and it went amazingly with the chistorra. Being a very flavorful sausage, it certainly drives every bite it's included in but the unique flavor of the duck manages to come through and they actually work very well together. The potatoes and poached egg included turn this into a very filling and satisfying meal. The drinks menu was very tempting but I ultimately had to go for cola since I was driving and I figured it'd go well with the carnitas. I will definitely have to try a few cocktails when I come back with friends. Chef Raquel came to check on my table and when I mentioned I had come to try the new Rusé pastry she actually brought out some Ruby Chocolate chips for me to try. I ended up taking the Rusé to go along with a couple other pastries including a Goat Cheese Yuzu Tart that was simply incredible. The gentle goat cheese contrasted beautifully with the bright, citrus flavor of yuzu and the pastry crust was simply excellent. If you come to Bonhomia, you will truly taste the flavor of kindness.

Decent and tasty but not great. Service/staff lacks professionalism. We showed up a few min after opening, and kitchen was not even ready nor finished with their prep. Server was not aware of any limitations on the menu, I had to find out they were out of something a few min after I had ordered. Ordered coffee, they told us we had to wait cause they were barely firing up the espresso machine (I noticed the barista got there late). Ordered the Japanese pancakes, they were out of them. Ordered molletes with fried eggs on top, although tasty, they were on the overcooked side from what I asked them to be. The chilaquiles were good but the portions were too small for the price tag. The salmon toast was okay, bit on the bland side of flavor. Ordered a flavored coffee, they came back and tell me they were out of it. Ordered a dragonfruit mimosa, never came. Ordered a croissant for the table as an appetizer, arrived while we were already in the middle of our main meals. Server never bothered to come back and check for any refills on water or coffee, even though we were their only table. Noticed a lot of ac vents with some sort of build up on them, looked like mold, but could be wrong. I would recommend skipping this place. Too pricey for the service and quality offered.

Reservation is needed or you will be sat outside. No diet drink options other than water but you do have the option of room temp or iced water, go with the iced water as it comes in a bigger cup. No kids menu but they will gladly take a stroll from their ‘elevated menu’ choices and dumb down the kids food by offering eggs on the side. The banana toast was drier than expected and loaded with peanut butter, the fresh fruit almost saved the dish. Skip the pesto avocado toast, pesto was oily with no flavor, dish was missing salt and vinegar. Over medium egg was overcooked . The red chilaquiles were heavily tomato one note, even though they added extra Serrano habanero sauce for me. 3 tostadas with beans and 1 egg is what you’re getting with these chilaquiles, skip. The croissant was the only thing enjoyed during this visit, they did make it into an egg croissant since they added the scrambled eggs inside. Pricing is on the higher end but not the food quality. Several waiters with no one inside the restaurant but 4 tables outside created a shortage somehow that the waiter table visits were minimal. A little of everything from disappointment service to poor food flavoring and high cost will ensure I don’t come back to this place.

I went there on Saturday with my girlfriend for a nice brunch date, we had wanted to come to this place a few weeks ago but when we called they told us it was full and they didn’t allow walk-ins, reservations only. So we called a day before and the lady on the phone said that reservations were only allowed for a group of 6 or more and that we can come in whenever, we thought it was weird since it was the opposite of what we were told last time but we didn’t think much of it since we just wanted to try it out. I ordered the chilaquiles (which was recommended to me by the manager that attended to us) and it was served in a plate that had sauce all around it and two tortilla like chips in the middle, it was aesthetically pleasing but that’s all it was. When I got to eating it, the knife wasn’t cutting through the tortilla chip at all since it wasn’t sharp enough and the longer I was taking the soggier the chips were getting due to the sauce. It got to the point where I was eating just soggy chips. I wasn’t the only one with this situation since the people next to us had ordered the same thing and were the same problems as me. When it came to the service, they took forever to ask us for what we wanted to order, and only came once I was trying to call for their attention. No one ever checked up on us, they were just walking by. Overall, the food was mainly just aesthetically pleasing as well as the place, but that is mainly all it was. The manager was nice to us but never checked on us throughout our meal. I was hoping for a lot more than what I received and I won’t be coming back...
