First time at this place. Arrived for our reservation on time for a party of 10 . We were sat immediately at our table. That was the only good thing about our experience at Mikhuna. It was all downhill after that. Our server took our orders in a respected amount of time. We ordered drinks, appetizers and our meals. Our appetizers took over an hour to come out. Mind you a party of 3 arrived at the same time we did and got their full meals (not appetizers) first. Another table beside us already had a 2 people finishing their meal and a new party of 4 sat down at their table after they left. That new party of 4 still got their meals before us. No apologies, no sorry about the wait, just kept offering refills. Then when our meals came out, they came out one or two at a time. It's hard to know if this was the servers fault or kitchen fault. Another large party of at least 10 people came in 30 minutes after we arrived and sat behind us. And WOW, they got their food before us. It's as if the server didn't want to let management know there was a problem with the kitchen and just let us wait. We all got our food just shy of 2 hours from ordering. Nothing special was ordered that was off the menu. We ordered the same things the kitchen has cooked several times before. And before the whole argument of management trying to claim "Saturday night is our busiest night, or Be patient it'sSaturday, Saturday night expect to wait, or we were a large party" will not suffice. I'm sure we were not and won't be the last party of 10 this place has ever served. Plus the party of 10 that came in after us and got their food, puts that claim to bed. Because we were in good company with friends was the only reason this review gets 1 star. I don't know what caused the issue but this was a horrible experience. Management was nowhere in sight and we won't be coming back.
Update 1 year later. We have not gone back but I did notice management did not comment or provide feedback on my negative review.
However, I did notice management commented on all the positive reviews and some negative reviews. Perhaps the mindset is, why bother commenting on a negative review when the majority of reviews are positive. Not worth the time for a non repeat customer since the customer won't return, etc.
I'm not sure why there was no response, but being in the customer service industry, you should make an effort to reply to all negative reviews since you do read the reviews as it shows in the replies only on the positive ones and some negative ones.
I would be more inclined to believe they didn't reply because they don't read the reviews, but clearly the...
Read moreI am very happy to say that this is a fine dining restaurant in the valley that I highly enjoy and recommend!
I went out with some friends (party of 5) on a Friday night to have dinner. My coworker Sebas had highly recommended this place and was very excited for all of us to try it out. I was excited too, I had looked at the menu before I got there and was happy to see such different things that I’m used to. We get there and there is not host at the host station, but my friend calls someone over and we’re sat immediately.
We take our time to order since apart of our party had not arrived, we never felt pressured to order or anything like that. We ordered some drinks all which were very good. My friends ordered a mango sangria and they really enjoyed it. I ordered a pisco sour and it was really good.
For an appetizer my friend Sebas recommended us the empanadas, which were absolutely delicious. They were fresh out, the pastry was perfectly thin and crisp. The filling was hot and flavorful. They were topped with a bit of sauce that was sweet but balanced. Great appetizer highly recommend.
For my entree, I ordered the tacu tacu. The serving was huge, the ribeye was quite the size. The serving of rice and beans was also a lot ! The plantains were sooo delicious, they tasted like home. Perfectly fried and not too oily. The ribeye had a very nice flavor, different from other steaks I’ve had. The rice and beans also tasted really delicious. I honestly can only complain that the food could’ve been a bit hotter, but flavor wise everything was absolutely delicious. Everything on the plate tied together to make an amazing dish. I didn’t try to the egg (I don’t like runny yolks) but it looked more than fine to me.
I really recommend this place if you’re looking to have a nice dinner. It has a really great menu that makes it very hard to pick a plate, all the options are enticing and sound delicious. It is pricey, but I will say it is definitely worth it.
Our server was really nice and was able to answer questions about the dishes and drinks !
Overall I had a great experience and can’t wait to come back to try...
Read moreIn the Valley, almost everything you eat tastes the same. I am from the Caribbean, where gastronomic cultures merge. And for a long time, I wanted to try something different, and I think I found it. With over 15 years of cooking and restaurant management experience, I am a bit difficult to please.
On February 22 and after having a very difficult day, I decided to give Mikhuna Restaurant a chance. From the first moment in the restaurant, I felt very comfortable. There were tables outside on a small balcony and two very cozy indoor lounges. The cleanliness of the place was impeccable, including the bathrooms. All the servers were well-groomed and looked fabulous. My wife decided to sit in the inside lounge, and we were seated by the window. The table, chairs, cutlery, and napkins were spotlessly clean.
Our waitress for the evening was Zoe Z. Zoe was super nice, attentive, and she knew her menu. I ordered the Arroz con Mariscos (rice with seafood/paella) and a beer. My wife ordered shrimp sushi and asked for it to be customized to her liking. The chef did an excellent job of accommodating my wife. My son ordered the Inca Gyoza (Japanese Dumplings) and the Chaufa. Oh god, the presentation of the dishes was excellent, but the combination of flavors was something special. With each bite, I was filled with energy and felt very happy that I chose this restaurant. Zoé with her attention made everything more special.
It's time for dessert. Zoe recommended Me to try the matcha cheesecake. And you had to try it. The dessert was the finishing touch to close after such a delicious dinner. I can't wait to go back. The prices are fair, for a meal made with such passion and care.
My compliments to the owner and Chef. It has a beautiful restaurant, a very good staff, and a menu full of flavor. Thank you Zoe for your...
