Read moreI usually don’t leave reviews, but when a place doesn’t meet the expectations I’ve experienced before, I feel compelled to share.
I typically visit the McAllen, Texas location, but this time I stopped by the Mission location since it was on my way and I expected the same service and quality. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
When I walked in, there were no employees behind the counter. Instead, they were laying down on the seats to the right, which I thought was strange. When I ordered a cookie and asked what was inside, the employee looked at me like she had no idea what I meant. I gave her the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe she just didn’t know.
The cookie was very cold, so I asked if they could warm it up. They just looked at me, said “OK,” and went back to loudly chatting and laughing with each other. I don’t mind employees having fun, but the volume and lack of attentiveness felt unprofessional.
When they brought my cookie back, I hadn’t heard a microwave or anything—and it was still cold. At that point, I didn’t feel like asking again since they seemed uninterested in helping.
Overall, the service felt careless and unwelcoming. I won’t be visiting this...
Read moreI’ve visited Rossina Café in McAllen, TX four days in a row, and here are my thoughts:
Food & Drinks: The coffee and taco I had on the first day were great. Lunch items, like the sandwich, tasted fine but felt overpriced—almost $13 for just one sandwich with no sides or even a pickle.
Cleanliness & Presentation: I noticed flies inside the case where the sweets and breads are displayed, which is concerning. It also seems like the breads aren’t rotated fresh daily.
Service & Staff: Every time I’ve gone, napkins and utensils weren’t provided—you have to get up and ask. When I mentioned the flies, the cashier just chuckled instead of addressing it. Staff also tend to dress very casually (warm-ups, tights, etc.), without hairnets in the back, which doesn’t look very professional. Customer service feels a bit careless.
Atmosphere: On the positive side, I love the environment, the café’s style, and the location.
Overall, the place has potential with its cozy vibe and good coffee, but cleanliness, professionalism, and customer service really need...
