My wife and I were looking for a lighter meal and tried Greens and Lemons. It’s innorth McAllen by Sam’s and I wasn’t too excited for a healthy Mediterranean place. I’m glad to say I was wrong. The atmosphere is much nicer than I expected and would make for a great day date spot. The menu has a lot of thing I want to try and did not play heavily on what most places that add healthy in their title. We started with humus and fried cauliflower. Thr humans tasted homemade, well season and not to oily compared to a lot of other homemade humus I’ve tried. They recommend the cauliflower and it hit so good. Again not oily at all but plenty crispy. The cauliflower was firm not overcooked and mushy and it was dressed in buffalo sauce. Would definitely recommend. This was pair with a cucumber water and a hibiscus tea (Jamaica) both definitely made fresh and not too sweet how I like it. The cucumber water was so damn refreshing, I’d come back for just a cup of this. Our main dishes were a green fish ceviche and and the Godzilla pokebowl. The ceviche does have a strong like flavor but not overpowering. That’s because there’s small bits of green apple. I was so surprised how well the sweetness of the green apple cut the sourness of the lime. The fish was large chunk of cod that were still soft and not rubbery so it hadn’t sit in the lime to too long. One of the better ceviche’s I’ve had. I do wish I had saladitas but that’s just me. The poke bowl was solid. It was well dressed, and the different chunk of fish were fresh, not sushi fresh, but lent itself to the dish well. I didn’t have anything to complain about but nothing stood out in particular. Again solid like bowl and we ended it bringing it home cause like bowls always carry well, just nothing to write home about, or Facebook in this case. Overall still pleasantly surprised and there’s definitely more I want to try when we go back. I also didn’t feel bloated and sluggish afterward so that’s always a plus. Would recommend but may not be for everyone 7.6/10 What we ordered Humus Fried Cauliflower Green Fish Ceviche Godzilla poke bowl We spent $56

We went on a Monday at about 6:30p. It wasn't busy. Only a couple of people were in there, and a few to-go orders were picked up while we were there. Only one gentleman was working and serving the front. He was super nice and very attentive. I got the cucumber water and also a regular water to drink, both of which were very good. We got the buffalo grilled cauliflower appetizer, and it was really good. Their Buffalo sauce was excellent. Cauliflower was cooked very well, had some nice charr on it, but not too much and was nice and soft but not too soft. I got the habañero mango salmon with roasted veggies, and I subbed the salad for their rice. The salmon was cooked perfectly and had so much flavor, I thought it would be spicy, but it wasn't. The rice was insane. It had so much flavor to it. There were small chunks of meat and mushrooms in it, I think. The roasted veggies were seasoned well and cooked to perfection. 10/10. Would recommend. It's probably just a few bucks more expensive than what you'd expect, but because of the care and flavor they put into their food, it is 100% worth it.

UPDATE- WOW things have gone downhill here. I’ve been a dedicated customer here for years and I’m never coming back neither are my friends and family. I came here for my birthday brunch and was greeted by horrible service. our server had glasses and a braid today and worked the shift when we came in at 12. She was incredibly rude- took 15 minutes for our drinks and “forgot” to bring the complimentary hummus for 20. When my sister spoke to her she didn’t even respond and walked away. She gave me a death glare the entire time and barely spoke a word to us. I’m disgusted at this behavior. As someone who also works in the service industry, i’m blown away how someone like this still has a job. The bill was racked $80 and I was not satisfied with the food or the experience, sadly. Caser is an AMAZING server !! Genuinely one of the best restaurant experiences i’ve ever had because of the impecable service and delicious food!! I ordered the vegan falafel salad which was very good. Will definitely be back!

Post from a year ago, edited recently.

Just left this restaurant. Food wise is excellent. My husband and I have dinner at this restaurant most Fridays. Today we had the rudest waitress we have ever had! We arrived a few minutes before 7. Right a way we placed our order. Since we already know the menu, we already knew what we wanted. The waitress kept attending other customers and cleaning up. I had to ask for the pita and hummus served at every table, and when I did instead of saying it will be right up or apologizing for not bringing it, what I received was attitude and excuse! Her reply was “well, I’m the only waitress here, sooo”. It took her less than one minute to get the hummus not only for us but for another couple that arrived after us! We actually received it after our ordered appetizer had already arrived! Perhaps she was trying to do clean up duties since they close at 8 and felt since we arrived one hour before closing she could take short cuts so as to ensure a quick closing! Before leaving I mentioned to her I did not appreciate her attitude and her reply was “you took it the wrong way”! Like I said this is not our first time there! Never had any waitress or waiter treated us with the attitude this woman had! She should not be working in any sector of the hospitality industry where there is any interaction with customers! We will be back since there are few healthy restaurant alternatives. If it was not for that, believe me, I...
