Sushi madre McAllen — Restaurant in McAllen

I’ve been here twice now and it’s been great both times. The first time we ordered the spicy edamame which came in a kind of spicy stew that was so delicious, I saved the sauce and spread it on everything. We also had two of their “tacos” (el Edgar y la tóxica) that were really good (especially with that sauce to add a kick). My boyfriend had the Yakisoba mixed which was very flavorful although the meat was a bit overcooked making it a tad tough to chew. I ordered the combo which came with a miso soup, rice, and a roll. I opted for a breaded roll which was just ok; I think the breading overpowered the flavor of the sushi, so I think next time I’ll pick an unbreaded roll. The second time I went, we ordered the teppanyaki mixed, chipotle chicken, and I had the mango fish tostadas. I highly recommend the tostadas. Super fresh and tangy, sweet, and spicy with enough food to be a full meal. The chipotle chicken plate was tender and juicy and a huge portion (enough for two) as was the teppanyaki (although again the ribeye was flavorful but a bit overcooked). Next time we think we’ll get it with just shrimp. All in all, this place offers flavor combinations that are new and delicious. We will definitely return to try out some more dishes. The service was great both times; made us feel welcome and well taken care of. So if you’re looking for something new, give this place a try. Está con madre...

Some context..this restaurant is originally from Laredo Tx...they have more than 3 successful locations there and they all have the consistent original flavor and service, I lived in Laredo for 6 years and Sushi Madre was my #1 favorite place to eat.. I moved back to RGV and always said we need one here... They are finally here, and they did not disappoint one bit...it's the Same original Laredo Flavor in everything we ate... This place beats Kumori and Kurai ANY DAY.. they won't be getting my money anymore... Sushi Madre has "Mucho Rollo $9.99" combo Specials every day.. the combo comes with the roll, cucumber & crab salad, and fried rice... This is a great way to taste the menu for a great price..you can also make any roll a combo for $2.99 more. I didn't get the combo special because my favorite roll is the "Benavides" it has flame charred salmon on top and the flavor is amazing.. everything is so good here.. please come eat here you wont be disappointed, and you WILL come back.. also spread the word, because we will need more locations...

Excellent Customer Service at Sushi Madre Mcallen. If you are looking for a nice and modern place to have dinner, visit Sushi Madre - RGV. Food is delicious, fresh and affordable prices. Family friendly atmosphere and they have a private room for special events. My son ordered the chicken nuggets with fries and he loved them. We ordered appetizers Mango Fish Tostadas, Crunchy Calamari and Spicy Edamame. For main entree we ordered the Fresh Hector Roll and Tempura California Roll Mucho Rollo combos which include fried rice and Crab Cucumber salad. We also tried the Mixed Yakisoba which has beef, chicken, shrimp and vegetables. We also ordered the Poblano soup and it wasn’t spicy. They were able to split the Cilantro Salmon plate that I wanted to share with my niece, she loved it. For dessert we had the choco roll.
