Wallbangers Burger Bar — Restaurant in McAllen

After viewing our bill we noticed we were charged for something we didn’t order, so we brought it to our waitress attention. The waitress said that the other party sitting with us at the same table didn’t pay for that item (a whiskey), so they put it in our bill (we did not order or have any whiskey)!

They took a long time to discuss & resolve the issue in the back while we waited & waited!!! Eventually the evening manager came over to our table to ask “what the problem was! I told him that “we did not have a problem”, except that we were not paying for someone else’s order, because they (their staff) failed to collect from the appropriate party. We felt disrespected and not welcomed or annoyed by our request to remove the whisky, we didn’t ordered or have for that matter! By the way their service is poor to mediocre.

My recommendation is not to invite anyone else to sit with you @ Wallbangers, if you don’t want to pay their expenses when the waitress fails to collect from the appropriate party or don’t go there at all! Instead try the hamburger & homemade po chips @ Bourbon Street Bar & Grill on 10th, they are much much better!!! Or go to other sports bars where they respect their customers; such as Applebee’s, Wing Daddy’s; Howling Rabbit and/or ACE’s Barbecue … lots of great places in McAllen!!!

I scower the country year-round searching for the best burger on the planet(and also for business reasons;)), and I'm glad I came across this place. I think it's safe to assume that Wallbangers was founded by burger-addicts, just like me. They're delicious patties range from 1/3# all the way up to an insane 3#er! And with all of the goodies including grilled ham, fried egg, smoked polish sausage, and fresh-sliced avacado, just to name a few. I ordered the "girlie"(1/3#) "Del Rey", and it came out a perfect med-rare, just the way I ordered it. I substituted the side of fries for some of their homemade Mac & cheese that actually tasted homemade! No posing at this joint, it's all about the food. I topped off my visit with a short, yet plesent stay in the restroom, which was far above my expectations. Being only a stone throw away from the Mexican border there is A TON of Mexican food going around. THAT being said, public restrooms are used hard day in, and day out, rendering the vast majority disgusting, and even unusable. Needless to say , I will be back EVERY chance...

Will never go to Wallbangers on N. 10th. We decided to go and watch game 5 of the World Series at this establishment, big mistake. We were seated at a table on the bar side and I had to go to bar and order our drinks. After waiting for about 15 minutes server came with our drink order and took our food order that took more than 30 minutes to get served. They called last round at 9:49 PM which was very well understood as they close at 10:00 PM. World Series still going and well after 10:00. At 10:37, we see a table being served beer. We asked our server why they were still being served and she said it was the owner and he can be served. Approached the owner, he said he could be served because he was the owner. According the Texas law he could but it would be only for him and has to go and serve himself. Well, the server not only brought him a beer but also to others at his table. When approached, he was flabbergasted and didn't answer. Our tab ended up to be about $400. As a business owner all he had to do...
