Oak Texas Bar & Grill - North Park — Restaurant in McAllen

Saw this place on TikTok and obviously was very interested but unfortunately this place was extremely disappointing. We got our menus and they smelled really bad (like stinky wet towels that had been left out overnight). We waited over 20 minutes to even order our drinks I could see our mimosa tower sitting at the bar for another 10 minutes after it was ready while the waitress was on her phone she didn’t even know if it was our tower because the manager took our order. When we received our tower the spout part was dirty (posted picture for proof) and they came to clean it with a paper napkin. Trying to make the most out of a slow start I poured my first drink into my glass and I saw some pink gunk come out from the spout into my glass it was disgusting considering a tower costs ($60) So we decided to not drink or eat there and they didn’t really care. LET ME TELL YOU. WHERE DO I START. We had the WORST service and guess who was our server? The effing manager, his names Rene and he’s a real AHole. Not only did it take forever to get water, oh wait we never got our water, I had to go to the bar to get it. And then, he made fun of my friend who has a speech impediment. THEN, he brought out the wrong order and tried to blame my friend so said he would “be right back”. Never came back, so my friend who was starving ate the one egg that was on top of the wrong order and they never brought out the correct order so he said just to forget about it. I recently dined at The Oak Texas Bar and Grill North Park and was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional customer service. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the host, who promptly seated me and my family of 17. The server Alonzo was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. Throughout the meal, Alonzo checked in regularly to make sure everything was to my satisfaction without being intrusive. The food arrived promptly and was beautifully presented. What really stood out was the genuine friendliness and professionalism of our server making the dining experience truly enjoyable. In addition to the great service, the ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and well-maintained.
