El Dorado Mexican Bar & Grill — Restaurant in McComb

My friend and I ate here three weeks ago. I recommended it to her because I had eaten here several times before with my husband. First of all, after we were seated, it took at least 15 minutes for our waiter to come to the table and introduce himself and ask what we would like to drink. After that first introduction, he remained incredibly slow throughout the entire dinner. My friend and I were excited about the food, so we were only moderately irritated about the slow service. We both ordered our entrees and we also ordered a large queso to split for our appetizer. It took another 15 minutes for us to receive our queso, which is aggravating because we wanted to eat it before our entrees arrived. The waiter was not paying any attention to us, and only brought it when I locked eyes with him across the restaurant, clearly aggravated. He then went over and brought us our queso. Literally two minutes after that our food arrived. Whatever, we agreed that we would eat the queso with our food. We each dipped a chip into the queso, and it was TERRIBLE. Queso is supposed to be melty and warm. This queso was watered down and room temperature. It had the consistency of spit. We couldn’t even get it to stay on a chip. We told the waiter when he came back to check on us (another 15 minutes later!) that we were unhappy about the queso and why. He then remarked to us that everyone else liked it, and took it away aggressively. My friend and I were hoping he would offer to remake it. He then brought the check promptly, not giving us any time or option to order dessert. I had to ask someone else for a box for my food because the waiter did not come back after that. I want to mention, the restaurant was not even near full. Even if it was full and the waiter was slow because of that, I am sympathetic if they have a good attitude. This waiter had a bad attitude. I was embarrassed that I had recommended this restaurant to my friend because it was awful. It will take me a very long time to give this restaurant another chance, when there are other, clearly better, options for Mexican...

I do NOT write reviews EVER!!! But I am so incredibly impressed with this place! Anyone who knows me, knows that I am not big on mexican inspired cuisine. I just have never been partial to it. Well today I wanted something different bc I have eaten the same things for lunch everyday for who knows how long. So I decided what the heck ill try "El Dorado" OMG! GUYS OMG!!!! I got the taco salad with chicken and I ATE THE WHOLE THING! I very rarely can finish the lunch I order. Most of the time I take a few bites and that's it. But not this time. I called ahead and the girl on the phone was friendly and informative. I got there to pick it up and it took all of like a minute for the man at the counter( the owner) to personally go grab my food and drink for me. (while i was waiting an adorable friendly young lady came up to see if I needed to be seated. which duh I didnt bc I was there for a call in. But she STILL CHECKED!) I just honestly am so INCREDIBLY IMPRESSED! I will for sure be back! See you guys...

Brought my family here to eat, we ordered cheese dip and it was cold. So we asked kindly for them to warm it up and bring another one with it; They bring one warm one and one COLD one. Minutes later, we get our food. A chicken fajita, 2 cheese quesadillas, and a taco salad. It was all cold. Including the rice sides AND the chicken fajita that usually comes out steaming. When we get up to leave and pay for our drinks (explaining to them the food was not good and cold) they whisper to eachother and give us dirty looks! Insane! I usually love this place... disappointed is an understatement.
