ALDI — Local services in McComb

Aldi is a great basic grocery store with great prices. This store in Edgewood is in the corner and easy to see from I-55. Although I live a 45-minute drive south, it's the closest store to me (until the local store opens in 2025.)

Smaller than the big-box and other grocery stores, Aldi is a place to either grab a few things or do a big shopping trip to stock your pantry.

This company has upped their game with more fresh food offerings, organic and gluten-free, and some great things called Aldi Finds, some of which are half the price for things you'd find in Walmart or Target.

Not to be ignored are the nice people who work there, too. They're very helpful and nice, and are ready to answer your questions.

That being said, remember to bring a quarter to get your basket, your own shopping bags, and get ready to bag your own things too. There's no music, so they don't pay licensing fees. It's a few of the many ways Aldi can offer groceries for less.

Employees are lovely, but the shoplifting is INSANE at this location. And it makes me wonder if I'm paying more when we stop at this halfway point (NOLA to a specialist in Miss.). As I was ringing up over $200 for what amounted to 3 bags of groceries, I watched one women in nursing scrubs walk up to self-checkout with an already-full carry bag of groceries, remove one item to scan and pay for, and walked out with the rest of her items for free. I saw a second shoplifting incident in under 30 seconds by yet another "customer". My first visiting and was pleasantly surprised. The store was clean and well organized. Be sure to bring your own bags and if you forget they do have them for purchase. At the time when I was here there are boxes that can be used (like sams).
