I used to love this place and have been coming here for years. The staff is great and the food is always excellent. My issue is not with the establishment itself but with a third-party source: DJ Clinto.
I’ve never been the biggest fan of him, as I’ve followed his Snapchat and have seen how he treats people and carries himself in a very unprofessional way. What I saw today on his Snapchat story completely fits that narrative. Clinto has a habit of recording and making fun of people singing karaoke at DC Cobb’s, then posting it to his Snapchat story.
Yesterday, he did just that—but this time, it hit too close to home. I noticed he recorded my cousin, who has special needs, and my blood boiled. It’s already inappropriate to record people without their consent—though not illegal—but this is something I’ve seen him do repeatedly, not only at Cobb’s but at other karaoke locations as well.
To me, this was absolutely disgusting. Recording my cousin during karaoke just to post it for his 100 followers to laugh at is incredibly disrespectful and disturbing.
As I mentioned before, I love this establishment and will continue to support it because this situation is not your fault. However, something needs to be done to prevent this in the future. Let’s be honest—the reason you’re not “Best of the Fox” for karaoke is because of Clinto. You need someone who can do better, someone who won’t exploit or humiliate people, especially those with disabilities, just for a cheap laugh. I sincerely hope you guys address these allegations seriously, and I know at the end of the day you all will do the right...

I feel it only fair after posting an unfavorable review in 2020, to give props when they are due. In the 3 years since they have done an outstanding job in transforming the space, including the outdoor riverside patio, the food and the service. Jamie, our server, was not only personable but knowledgeable about drinks and the menu. The food was plentiful and outstanding. Some may feel it borders on pricey, but Ingot 2 meals in one. Will definitely return and glad to see this story has a happy ending because McHenry and the area needs more places like this….and is a far cry better than Moretti’s. Maybe they too will improve in time.
Took my elderly Dad for a Saturday lunch. He's in a nursing home and he looks forward to outings. Granted his jokes might be difficult to understand but not one of the staff could even be bothered to go along with him. In fact I'd say they ignored our table for the most part, since they never asked to refill his coffee or my husband's come or my water. The sandwiches and burger were not hot, barely warm. My "toasted" sourdough bread was soggy and didn't appear to have been toasted. When mentioned to the server, she said she'd mention it to the cook....whatever good that was supposed to do me. They should have more low level tables outdoors. We had to sit inside where the music videos on the TV were so loud it was difficult to hold a conversation. I could see how the place has potential. But 3 servers standing around talking to each other and not paying attention to customers isn't a...
Read moreA rather disappointing experience. I ordered a cheeseburger, medium, my husband a ruben. Our food arrived with both sides cold, not even warm, cheese curds had hard unmelted cheese. I cut my burger in half to find it well done with hard crisp edges. When the waitress eventually returned she apologized and ordered a new burger and fresh sides. She returned 10 minutes later with hot sides saying the burger would be up shortly. My husband finished his dinner and we waited 15 more minutes for my new cheeseburger to arrive. The waitress arrived, handed me my plate and walked into another room. As I cut into the replacement burger blood filled my plate, it was rare. Another 10 minutes later she walked back into the room but didn't come to check on us we had to flag her down. She apologized again and said she could have them cook it more or make a new one. I requested a new one as I had already coated it with toppings and didn't want to spend $18 on a dried out cheeseburger. She said no problem and took my plate. Another 10 minutes later she came back with a plate and said I'll wait while you cut it. I lifted the bun and saw my last cut in half burger. She apologized again and said "4th times a charm". All this time wasted and frustration and a 4th attempt at a cheeseburger. Not once did a manager come by. Not an I'm sorry for all this we will take it off your bill or even an attempt at making it right. Just a "4th times a charm". Needless to say we...
