I went to The Golden Chic location on West University and I had a craving for a nine piece wicked wings. My Wife tried to tell me not to go there because the appearance of the building looked sketchy. I go to the drive through and the woman tells me to hold, and about 3 minutes later she finally asks for my order. I ask for a 9 PC wicked wings combo with dirty rice. The woman comes back loud and with a nasty attitude and says, we ain't got no dirty rice. My Wife tells me to just not even order and go somewhere else, but instead, I ask the woman for just the 9 PC wings and she says with the same nasty attitude, with sauce or without sauce, I think to myself, first of all it's seasoning, not sauce, and then I tell her again that I would like just the 9pc wicked wings and she says, well some people wants the sauce on the side and some don't. I said please put the seasoning on the wings. She then tells me to pull around ! I pull up to the window, she takes my card, and about 10 minutes later she opens the window and gives me my wings, didn't apologize for the wait and just closed the window. I make it home, open my box and the wings, they just saturated the top of the wings, didn't even have any seasoning on the bottom side of the wings. I started to eat a couple of the wings and they didn't taste good at all. I had given my Wife 3 wings and She even brought the 2 back to me and said they didn't taste right. Read moreBy far, worst experience I’ve ever had a fast food restaurant, not only did the staff have an attitude the entire time. We arrived at this location at 9:25 PM and did not receive our food until 1024. Not only was our food completely cold and half of the items we asked for weren’t even in the bag and they sincerely didn’t try. Matter fact, mid order a girl in the store stared at our horizon walked away. Not only did they state that they were about to close, which was not true since they didn’t close until 11 they told us that they were completely out of sides, and proceeded to attempt to accommodate for us. Not only did they not give us what we ordered. They then decided to completely forget our side and that they weren’t gonna give it to us and all of our food was extremely cold so we end up having to re-warm it completely when we got home because everything was completely cold as if it had been sitting out not only we receive cold chicken, but we also received old chicken and sides, which makes no sense since we sat there for 45 minutes , if that. Staff, and management need to complete upgrade because this is absolutely unacceptable and horrible. I do appreciate the young man who came to accommodate for the things that we have to deal with. The young lady that took my order either did not care about this job, or just had no personality, but that isn’t my complaint here.
My issue came after I placed my order and asked for sauce. The young lady simply said “It’s 42¢.”
Now, I don’t carry cash, so I handed her my debit card. She then proceeded to tell me that there is a minimum charge for debit cards and I’d need to buy 3 BBQ sauces to use my card.
“Well, if that’s the case, why didn’t you mention that when I was ordering?”, I said. I’ve never been to a Golden Chick that has charged extra for dipping sauce, so it never crossed my mind.
I’m not sure why they aren’t asking this with every order. “Would you like gravy or dipping sauce?” I don’t feel as though that’s unreasonable. They are taking 1000 orders a day. It seems logical.
And it’s not really even the 42¢ that bothers me. It’s the attitude behind it and the fact that they could have said “You know, you’re right, sir. We should have asked you when you placed your order. Please, take this BBQ sauce and enjoy your meal.”
But instead, you now have one more angry customer, and another bad...
