Iām a texas girl through and through so obviously I judge a restaurant, especially Mexican restaurant, based off their salsa and thatās where it all began! The salsa was absolutely perfect, had spice but not to much for me at least. Then ordered the table side guacamoleā¦normally we have to add more garlic or salt for it to taste right BUT not with San Miguelās the guac was amazing and we didnāt feel the need to add anything extra!!! I told my husband āif the food is anything like the salsa and guac were in troubleā¦ā it took maybe 10 minutes to get our food and omg it was absolutely amazing!!! I had the beef quesadillas and a strawberry frozen margaritaā¦the quesadillas were so cheesy and gooey the beef in them wasnāt little tiny chunks but large chunks of steak and cooked to perfection with a slight crisp to the outside of the tortillas but still soft on the inside of the tortillas! The margarita was a PERFECT mixture of tequila to flavoring not to overpowering on either ingredient!!! My husband had the number 7 two beef burritos topped with Queso with rice and beansā¦the rice and beans had so much flavor in them it was unreal. I didnāt taste the burritos but my husband devoured them in a matter of minutes so in his own way thatās saying they were amazing. Lol. We will definitely be back for future date nights!!! The staff is so attentive and friendly! Definitely better than any chain Mexican...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stopped by for lunch on a Wednesday, and had a fantastic lunch experience. The moment we walked in the door everyone was friendly and helpful. The very friendly owner, Arturo, came around to check on people at least once during the visit.
The chips and salsa were excellent with a fairly spicy salsa that hit just right. My husband said it just might be his favorite ever, and the chips were clearly fresh with just the right crisp. We were there at lunch and both had lunch specials which were great. We also had an appetizer I can't recall the name of but was a cold dish with shrimp, cubed fish, tomatoes, red onions, and cilantro in a lime vinagrette-style dressing that was a perfect dish for the first cool day in many months (and would be a great cool-down in the summer). Wednesdays (as of this writing) are happy hour all day, so I snagged a margarita that was definitely not just made from a mix, so it wasn't as sugary as you often find. It was definitely strong for my small build, so bring a driver like I did. :)
The seating was sectioned off into areas to provide a somewhat more intimate feel while still having some openness. And once more, it has to be said, the staff members from start to finish were all...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAlways love eating at this down-to-earth, Tex-Mex restaurant! The food is top notch, with many selections to choose from, ranging from light fare to the biggest banquet platter; all at reasonable prices. The servers are always pleasant, happy to describe in detail any dish you might be unfamiliar with. And tonight, my wife and I took our friend, an out-of-towner, to eat here, and the male server, after bringing us our check, said to me "I'm pretty sure I remember you from when our restaurant was in Plano. You and your brothers would often come and eat lunch together. Is that you?" His name was Tony, and he was totally correct! Almost 30 years ago, my two brothers and I ran a family-owned home building company, and indeed, we would often take our lunch break at their former site in Plano. What an incredible memory, for him to see me now, 30+ years older, and with two women (my wife and friend) and still make the connection to me and my brothers! Please try this restaurant the next time you're in the mood for Tex-Mex; they won't let you...
