My family and I love Kura restaurants. We have visited several in the metroplex. The experience of revolving sushi bars is enjoyable and great when you have an extra hungry family.
It is obvious that this location is new. The wait staff is friendly but inexperienced. We had to request for refills several times and once where they refilled one drink at the table but left the rest empty. We ordered something that came out incorrectly and the waitress said she was going to fix it but we never saw her again. The staff was super nice and smiled so the mistakes didnt bother us too bad.
In regards to to the food. it tasted good however the rolls are significantly smaller that the ones at other locations. So much so we resorted to ordering hand rolls instead of traditional since we felt like we got more bang for the buck. The chefs in the kitchen seemed overwhelmed and stressed out. The sushi belt actually jammed up a few times causing even more frustration from the kitchen. We order about 15 hand rolls (family of 4) and 4 of them came out as traditional rolls. This was even more of an indication that the kitchen staff wasnt on par.
Overall it was an OK experience. We understand the location is new and need to work out some kinks. We will live in the area so we will be back. Still worth...
Read moreToday I brought my son to try sushi. He loved it! The food tastes really fresh, and this location specifically didn't seem to have frozen, to overly cold sushi like the one on legacy. Sometimes at the Plano location I would take the sushi off the belt and the meat was so cold it was almost frozen. The staff was pretty attentive, and answered all my questions as well as help me with the app to get my points. I will say some of the watermelon was not as sweet as I had intended it to be as well as them cutting it too close to the rind. I feel it was not worth $3.50.
I do wish it was a tad cheaper in price per sushi plate but I do understand you also pay for the experience with a sushi belt. As well as the different varieties you can have. I did notice there wasn't very much available on the belt today for this location, but I was still able to order things off the menu and wait a couple of minutes.
The bathroom was clean and organized and it's interesting they had a bidet in the toilet. 🤭 Didn't expect that.
Overall this is a good place to come for a nice sushi day with friends or family. Each plate is $3.50 so make sure you grab a good chunk of money. I purchased 16 plates plus five more plates to go, Totaling a little...
Read moreKura Sushi delivers on cleanliness and food quality — the restaurant is spotless, and the sushi itself is fresh, tasty, and well-prepared. It’s clear that cleanliness and food standards are a priority, which makes for a pleasant dining experience.
However, some service issues take away from the overall experience. The staff, while polite, can be slow to attend to customers. During my visit, it took quite a while before someone came over, even when assistance was needed. Additionally, the conveyor belt — a central feature of the restaurant — was surprisingly empty for about 20 minutes, which is frustrating when you're relying on it for a quick and fun meal.
Another concern that detracts from the experience is the behavior of other patrons, particularly those with young children. Some parents seemed inattentive, allowing their kids to poke at the sushi as it passed by on the belt. This raises hygiene concerns, especially in a setting where food is exposed and shared.
Overall, Kura Sushi gets high marks for cleanliness and food quality but could improve on service speed and maintain a more hygienic environment through better supervision of the...
