One and Only Burgers and Fries — Restaurant in McKinney

I'm a burger snob and i rate burger joints harshly. It takes a REALLY GOOD burger joint to rate 8/10 in my book. I've only rated around 5 in Texas as 9/10 and only two over that. The only 10/10 in the whole state is Alamo Springs Cafe in Fredericksburg; the returning reigning King of Burger joints anywhere followed closely by "Grill'em all Burgers" in Alhambre California at a 9.5/10. I wasn't expecting ANYTHING near this going in today to One and only burgers. I went here because my daughter's live in Frisco and someone recommended it. Well, to my complete surprise, i was blown away by this place. They literally check every box, hand cut fries IN ABUNDANCE, open grill from everyone to see the cooking area, toasted buns on both sides, smashed hand formed patties, shredded veggies, perfect seasoning on the patties lots of choices and the prices are VERY reasonable. I would rate the burgers a solid 9.5/10 tying with Grill'em all Burgers in California and just ahead of the previous DFW champ LA Burger (9/10). While these check boxes are amazingly simple, most places just don't hit them all; One and Only Burger does hit every box and does so perfectly. In short, i travel all over the country and this is now my second favorite burger joint anywhere. It's that good. If you're a burger fanatic, you can't go wrong here; you'll love this place. Overall, I'd rate this place a solid 9.8/10, the second only anywhere in the country I've rated a burger joint this high....

I did go in around 3pm. Place had 4-5 tables so I was impressed. Go up to counter (as I went straight vs turning right" I said opps obviously my 1st time here." Didn't bat an eye punching on her screen "what do you want?"... I tell her. Punches it in give me a number and ushers me on my way. No big deal its a kid.

Guy brings my burger says the number and kinda tosses it down. I look around and maybe 40-60 % of the staff is on their phones at any given time.

My burger is missing several toppings but at this point I don't want to "bother" anyone... I left no thank you, no good bye. They were all on their phones. Burger was hot, fries tasted fresh and prices were great... so I would still go here again, I just cannot say its a 5 star experience.

Exceeded expectations! Heard the reviews and told my parents about this place... they were driving on 380 so I said I'd call and order for them. My mom went in said she loved the place and my dad said they we arguably one of the top burgers he's had. They absolutely loved the fries as well. Very happy that they hit a home run. Definitely go give this place...

My husband and I ate here today for the first time in a while. The burgers used to be so tasty. They once had flavor and were juicy. Today, our experience was a huge disappointment. The short haired girl wearing the ball cap at the front register was so rude and short with us. She lacked customer service skills by a long shot and we actually almost left because of how rude she was. We decided to look past it and go ahead and order. Their milkshake machine was down and my two boys were upset because that was part of the reason we came. I asked when it might be fixed and the girl was just very rude. The burgers were bland and dry. They got our order wrong and we had several missing items we paid for. The buns were cold. The place is dirty and unkept. So many tables uncleaned and flies everywhere. They have no combo meals or kids menu. High chairs were filthy! It was just not a good choice for lunch today and probably won’t be again. I’m giving 2 stars because their hand cut fries are always fresh and exceptional. I was sad that this would probably be our last time eating here but it needs...
