Update 2025 : we came back and revisited Tahn Thai on our drive back from an out of town trip. It did not Disappoint!!! This time I wanted to try different dishes. I ordered fried spring rolls, fried shrimp rolls, papaya salad, Pad Kee Mow and the crab fried rice. All these dishes have generous portions (really great in this economy), with the right price and it still taste amazing. The crab fried rice uses real crabs, not imitation crab, which I really love. The papaya salad really hit the spot makes me think of home. The pad Kee Mow is always a favorite with a char flavor noodles. I'll definitely keep coming back to this place when I come and visit. Try it if you haven't, it will not disappoint. This place is a little hidden gem. I ordered the Larb dish, tom yum soup , chicken satay, green curry and mango sticky rice. The larb was so authentic. Not alot of restaurant can make this simple traditional dish. It hit the spot. The green curry was on point with medium spicy. I ordered the Tom yum soup very spicy. This place can make it a VERY spicy dish. I would say medium spicy is already pretty spicy. Chicken satay was very flavorful and tender (not dry). Finish off with amazing sticky rice mango dessert. Prices are fair with big portions. They do no skimp on the portions. Best part, you will meet the nicest and sweetest people that will give you great service. Try it out and support small...
Read moreFirst timer here. Small little thai restaurant by our house that just opened up and we decided to give it a try. I think it’s still their soft opening. It is a walk up and order at the counter type restaurant.
I ordered the beef pad see ew. It was good. It was a little to sweet for my taste. The beef was very tender though and the portion was good.
My family also ordered the beef pad see ew, pad thai and fried rice. Everyone said their food was good. Only thing they really critique was that it was a bit to sweet and the spice level wasn’t up to par for them. They all asked for more chili oil and still wasn’t spicy enough for them but that’s personal preference.
Overall it was good. The clerk was super nice and he also gave us a 15% discount since it was their 2nd week opened. It was $85 for 6 dishes which wasn’t bad. Only other criticism is that the cashier should asked if we wanted bottled water or tap water. Most place would give you tap water if you asked for water but he gave us bottled and charged us. It’s not a bad thing, just a learning point. We also saw the owner there and she seemed...
Read moreThe restaurant still looked new, atmosphere was clean and modern casual dining. It's almost fast casual since you self serve water and order at the counter (no sit down menu). There were a lot of appetizing items on the menu so we ordered 3 dishes: larb, yellow curry fried rice, and the Tahn Thai noodles. I think they got our spice levels mixed up because the curry fried rice was the only dish with any kick. It turned out to be the most tasty as well, with plenty of large chicken chunks. The larb was too mild (despite asking for medium heat) and I thought it didn't have enough fish sauce flavor. I choose this dish at many Thai restaurants in order to have a baseline. It is a northern Thai dish so perhaps not this restaurant's specialty? The last dish we tried, the Tahn Thai noodles is a potato noodle based dish, similar to Korean chap-che. We ordered this mild so it didn't have any heat. I suspect this detracted from the flavor. All in all everything was filling with good portions and plenty of protein. I would go back, and probably pick some more...
