My husband and I used to love coming here. The food is always so good but the service has fallen off. I wish I was exaggerating about how they are about tips. We are regulars here, and we ALWAYS tip and tip well because we love the experience so much. Unfortunately, the last two times we've come here, we've had some very bizarre experiences with the service; especially in regards to tipping. The second to last time we came to dim sum mania, the lady actually chased us as we walked out the door because she didn't see where we put her tip and she thought we left without tipping. So we had to walk back into the restaurant and show her where we tucked it under a glass on the table. When we went in today, they refused to use our visa gift card as a form of payment (we don't understand why) and then when they came to take our cash, they sent two different waiters/waitresses to our table to ask if we were going to leave our tip on the table. It's just incredibly pushy and uncomfortable. It makes us feel like they assumed we were the type of people who wouldn't tip, and we are passionate tippers. We've worked in the food industry and think it's very important to tip. Also, on this most recent trip, we had a table of 4 and they brought us to a table with only 3 chairs. There were none visible nearby that we could take for our table, and then they looked at my husband funny when he was standing there waiting to talk to a waiter about getting a chair. They seemed upset that we split our bill with the people we came with, and they also brought our food but didn't bring us silverware. It was honestly a very off experience. Like I said, this is my husband's and I's favorite date spot, and we've been coming here for years. So it was incredibly strange to have the experience we've had recently. To be honest, we'll probably order takeout next time so we don't have to deal with the awkwardness and odd pressure/judgment that came from the staff. It's a shame because we'll have to find a new favorite spot. 😕🫤

Discovered this place last year and have been coming here for the soup dumplings since. I used to go to Chinatown but I hate dealing with Chinatown on weekend due to traffic and parking issues so found this place and starting going here since. The crab meat soup dumplings and scallion pancakes has been consistently good. The Shanghai wonton dumplings I feel like they changed the recipe because I remember having seaweed in it and today when we went there was no seaweed at all and that’s one of my favorite soup from them. Aside from that the spicy beef & tripe was a bit bland. It’s not marinated at all. All you taste is the spicy that numbs your mouth and that’s also another of my favorite dish with I come here. So I’m a bit disappointed. So hopefully next time I come back it’s better for those dishes. The service is good people are very friendly and my water is constantly getting refill without me having to ask which shows that they pay attention to their customers.

Very tasty dim sum close by.. it saves me a trip to Philly. The restaurant is spacious and the staff is very friendly and attentive. We got a few dishes for lunch and am excited to return! (So excited to try the shrimp rice rolls.. they are my childhood favorite) Definitely try their pan fried turnip cakes.. sticky rice in lotus leaf is also a delicious savory dish.. (I think it’s my favorite from that day) the beef pancake is delicious... the pan fried dumplings are also tasty. (Was too busy eating to take photos of all the dishes, haha) as for dessert, their sticky rice in rice wine is great! It may seem unusual to some people because it’s served hot but it’s so good.. I love the sweet sesame/peanut filled glutinous pieces. Makes me feel at home. it’s a classic. Do not be scared to try new things and dive into new flavors you’re not familiar with! they do a great job at nailing the flavors down. Reminds me of childhood. Thank you!

Food was decent, not the best dim sum ive had, but maybe that reflected how we were treated our entire time there. The customer service was very very poor! We called before walking in at 840pm to make sure it wasnt too late to dine in. we were told they closed at 10pm so we had plenty of time, and only 2 of us so it shouldnt be a problem.

As soon as we sat down all the staff was loudly moving tables and chairs, wet mopping all around us so uncomfortably we felt rushed and claustrophobic. They were shutting the place down and it was not even 9pm and they just sat us. they also opened their doors and windows freezing us out like we weren’t sitting there.

Then after we got our food our not friendly at all waitress who didnt even say hello only “you ready to order?!”we never saw again, never came over or asked if we needed anything else. Some guy walks up gives us the bill, loudly speaks Chinese to the host clearly talking about us while they stare at us sitting there, then 5 minutes later says “you ready yet?” (We were still chatting and drinking our tea as it was 940 at this point very much time left till closing) very annoyed we said no were not, he said well we closed at 930 I responded “well when we called before coming you guys said 10pm we wouldn’t have came if we knew we would be rushed the whole time.” and then he says oh today Wednesday never mind and walks away.

Rudest service ever received is an understatement. We had such a poor experience and what a disappointment! considering the location we had much higher expectations! Please learn how to greet people properly, and know that service is much more than bringing food to the table shoving a check in peoples face. They treated us like sheep! Also if you wanna close early how about stop taking customers! A restaurant should be somewhere relaxing where you come to get out of the house and enjoy a meal if we wanted to hurry up and buy we would have...

I've been a frequent customer here ever since it opened switching over to it from the smaller dim sum place next door. I was very happy with the food and service for several years. However over the past year or so a new waitress started working at dimsum mania that is very aggressive, loud, nervous and pushy, completely ruining our dining experience. Today as well as a few other times she seems to want to push this particular bok choy type vegetable on us (do they have a surplus of it?). She also said try something different than just chicken and broccoli. I found that insulting honestly. I pride myself on trying different things like spicy szechuan dishes. I ended up ordering what she was pushing just so she'd leave me alone, it ended up being more expensive than I had planned on paying and not particularly tasty and boring it just had a ton of that vegetable. I'm really considering not returning because of her. We've tried to get her to not wait on us but she just keeps coming back to our table like a fly. I don't know how this can be fixed. Maybe my family and I are the only ones that find her annoying. I guess I just have to stop going there, It is a shame because I really like the food and have recommended it to many people. Not sure I can recommend it anymore because of the chance of getting that terrible waitress. I think I'll just go next door to Tom's Dimsum...
