Very beautiful restaurant. Service was slow and inattentive, but the restaurant got very busy after we arrived on a Wednesday. Long hot special was delicious, very spicy, and slightly charred. Oysters were delicious. They just needed more Horseradish. Cheese plate was very tiny but good. No bread offered, which was one of my husband's main complaints. Soup and salad came out after our entrees, which I told our server not to bring because she forgot them, and she said we could box them up 😒. I got the capellini with shrimp and crab, which was ok. I had to ask two times for red pepper flakes. I cannot eat pasta without it, so my party was done their meals before I even started. I was disappointed it was canned crab meat, I wouldn't have ordered if I knew that. My husband loved his risotto, he substituted asparagus for mushrooms and enjoyed his meal very much. My husband's daughter had the gnocchi, which she enjoyed. Coffee was not good tasted old and burnt. Our bill was well over $200 for 3 people, including drinks and apps. A little overpriced in my opinion.

We got the dessert combo, which came with an impressive array of desserts. We tried the cannoli first. Unfortunately, there was some foreign matter in the cannoli cream. It felt crunchy, like plastic or maybe a vegetable stem. As you can see in the photo attached, it was translucent. We told the waiter there was something gross in the dessert, and his reply was right out of a sitcom. He said "oh yeah we've had complaints before. That's pumpkin or something. We get it from a place in New York, sometimes they put stuff in the cannoli cream." SOMETIMES THEY PUT "STUFF" IN THE CANNOLI CREAM! My dinner companion pointed out that pumpkin isn't white, it's orange. The waiter said "yeah......welp, I hope the rest of it was good!" There was no offer of discount, replacement, or even help identifying the item they just tried to make me eat. Do not go here if you have allergies, dietary restrictions, or any objections to a restaurant that sometimes puts stuff in their cannoli cream which may or may not be crunchy chunks of vegetables (or plastics)

Spasso appears to be a converted bank building. The interior is lovely with dark walls. I visited around. 3PM. Very quiet time with most staff eating lunch/dinner. The staff were responsive and attentive, but without being intrusive. Nice folk. I had a salad. It was very fresh with a citrus vinaigrette. Very good beginning. I had tea and they serve STASH, one of my favs. I had Bucatini in Primavera. It was good but far too many pickled artichokes. They overpowered the sauce. It was still good. About a C+. I also had string beans with garlic. Beautiful color and great taste, and not overcooked. Perfect. I splurged and had dessert. Tiramisu. YUM! The server said it was made with love. Spot on! The best I've ever eaten! Luscious and delicious. Portions are good. I had enough for another meal. Yeah, well, the tiramisu didn't make it to the second meal! Sorry for the quality of the pictures. I guess I'll just have to visit again soon to take a picture of the tiramisu, and my plate before rather than during. 😊

Celebrated a family member's birthday on June 23rd with 8 guests and the bill was a couple of $100 so as always I leave a 20% tip for the waiter who was pretty good with service. Besides the flies interrupting our dinner due to the doors being open the food was excellent and the atmosphere was fun. At the end of the night when the bill was paid I graciously gave 20% as I always do for good service but as I walked out of the restaurant to take pictures in front of the establishment the waiter Pete decided he was going to interrupt our photo session and asked if everything was OK to which I advised yes. Pete, the waiter, decided he was going to express his concern that I did not leave enough money for a tip for him. Astonished as I was I asked him to walk inside since he made that comment in front of family members, guests and customers outside the establishment. I then showed him the receipt and my calculations which he nodded his head and said OK at which time I left with my family. Concerned that this was not the proper way to handle the situation I contacted a manager who was in disbelief himself. The manager Antonio (I believe) stated that he or a general manager would call me back but at this time no one has returned my call. I was truly upset and embarrassed that this waiter assumed he deserved more than 20%. It appears from other reviews that this waiter Pete has had other interactions like this one. I am shocked that the owners of this establishment continued to allow this to happen and I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone since I see that this has been an ongoing effort by this one waiter. It is a shame that one waiter can ruin the integrity of this...

What a mess there today! Our party of 5 arrived about 11:30 for Sunday brunch. I ordered the carne frittata. Our server told us she'd bring the food out as it was done so it would be hot. (The place had only 2 or 3 other tables filled at the time.) Our server brought mine out last and told me, "I'm so sorry. They are remaking your order and I brought this (seemed to be the egg white omelette) out for you now." Despite my family prompting me to eat it, I didn't touch it because it wasn't what I wanted.

Everyone else ate, and were almost done, and our server brought me a salmon frittata (someone else in our party ordered one, but I don't eat fish.) I took it back to her and said that I ordered the carne frittata, and I didn't even want it now because the rest of my party had finished their meal. She came back a few minutes later with the carne frittata!!! (The table behind us witnessed all of this had already left.)

I reminded her that I said I didn't even want it, since everyone else was done eating (and I was really fed up at this point.) We asked for a manager and were told there wasn't one on duty. They chef was handling things.

Our server was very polite and apologetic, offered dessert (which I declined) and then took our coffees off the order. I fault Spasso having a chef doing double duty for all the screw-ups in this empty restaurant! It's a shame because we've had very good meals here, and after this morning, I don't think...

Visited on Friday 3/4/22. My wife and I weren't sure where we wanted to go for dinner but we started our night with a cocktail at the Spasso bar. Prompt, friendly service from the bartender and a high top opened right behind us so we decided to stay. At our server's suggestion we got the crab cake special as an appetizer (of course the price was not on the menu) I ordered a shrimp over spinach & mixed vegetable special while my wife stuck with their homemade pasta and scallops. The "crab" cake was a joke, especially at 18.00. It was a tasteless and had no visible meat in it. Our meals came our and while my shrimp was tasty, the vegetables were severely over cooked and had the consistency of mush. In all fairness, my wife's pasta dish was very good. Our server was comical in that he kept walking past his tables simply saying," It looks like everything came out all right" while slightly pausing his stride. I never commented on my meal because it was apparent that he did not care and was only interested in a quick turnover. My "special" dinner was more a few dollars more that anything else on the menu and very disappointing. If you go to Spasso, stick with their...
