We came in a few weeks ago for the first time since we just moved to Media. The service and food were amazing. I told my wife it's one of the best burgers I've ever had and we were excited to have a new "favorite spot" only a mile from our house. We went for our second time, or attempted to last night during dining under the Stars. We walked inside at 6:05 p.m. and I told the two hostesses that we wanted to sit outside Street side. They said that was completely fine and they totally understood that I wanted to sit Street side and not just outdoors on the patio. They were fine taking my reservation for five people, two adults and three kids. When we stepped back outside to go and try to find something to do while we waited for a table I saw a woman also taking reservations outside. Out of an abundance of caution since we were hungry and we had three impatient kids with us, I reserved a table again with her. She seemed to think it was odd that the girls inside took our reservation for streetside dining because she claimed that it had to be done through her. So as I said we gave her my information. She said it would be about 45 minutes to an hour. So when it hit an hour and 20 minutes and I hadn't heard anything we decided to walk over and see how many people were still ahead of us. She told me there was one table finishing up and it shouldn't be anything more than 15 more minutes, that's fine it's a busy night. So we decided to go and sit on a bench close to their doors to wait for the call. Then a woman who I guess was the manager came over to me and said hi we tried calling you and texting you and you didn't answer so we gave your table to somebody else. I told her I didn't receive any calls or texts and she got a little bit defensive and said you want me to show you the phone number that we have for you? I figured it's a moot point by now there's no reason to try to prove to me that you are right, that's just petty because it was clearly their fault not mine. I know my phone number and I gave it to two different people so I know I was never called or texted. Yet I did receive a text that said I was added to the waitlist so somebody had my phone number correctly even if both of them didn't. I would think that in the confusion maybe one hostess would talk to the other outside hostess and say hey do you have the phone number for "that guy". It seems like common sense to me. She said if we wait 15 more minutes she could probably seat us inside but it's dining under the Stars!, and my kids have been looking forward to it all day and at this point it was 7:30 and everybody was very hungry. I could tell my wife was as upset as I was but she said it's fine let's just go find some other place to eat. But guess what? All the other restaurants were mobbed by this time of the night. And guess what else? After barely getting an apology and not trying to fix the problem by giving us the next possible table as we were walking away upset, I got a TEXT saying I was removed from the wait-list! WHAT THE HELL!!! They clearly had the number to send that text to! I got the general feeling that they didn't care that they ruined our entire night and it was probably because they saw that we had three children whereas if it was a group of adults they would probably make more money off of drinks and such. So I feel pretty confident that we were discriminated against because of the fact that we had children with us. Nobody seemed to care and they didn't seem to care when we said forget it we're leaving we will find someplace else to eat. We really wanted the experience of dining under the stars and some of the food that I had the first time that was so great. But unfortunately they ruined our entire night by stringing us along for almost 2 hours only to not offer us a priority seat because they made the mistake, not us. Horrible experience that is completely the opposite of what we had the first time we went. That's a really crappy way to do business. They need to work on customer service and communication...
Read moreI came for dinner on Friday August 16 with my friend. The food was great, we loved the music they were playing outside, but the service left us with a bad taste in our mouths. Our server seemed very flustered and overall not really capable of doing her job that evening. At the beginning, I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt and remind myself that she could be having a bad day and you never know what anyone is going through, and it’s a friday night, so she’s probably busy! As the night went on it came to seem like our patience was being taken advantage of. We got an appetizer and we’re not given plates or napkins. If we finally got our servers attention, we wouldn’t see her again for another 30 minutes. She gave us the bill and i ended up needing to walk it inside to have another server ring us up because 20 minutes had gone by without my card being collected. It also took us 30 minutes to get the bill after asking for it. I ate my meal with an empty drink, and she had told me she would refill it but then forgot for 30 minutes. This meal that could’ve taken 2 hours took 3.5 because of the incompetence. I can totally sympathize with having a bad night but also the fact that we were just ignored and no one else was stepping in to make sure we were being taken care of. Also, by the end of the night there was really not much of a crowd so it should have been pretty easy to check in on us every now and then. Overall the service just made it a difficult and frankly stressful...
Read moreA friend recommended this restaurant a few weeks back so when looking for someplace to grab an early dinner in a Saturday, I looked into the closest location to me.
About 10 minutes after 5 is when my partner and I arrived. From the outside you can see it was crowded but upon walking in I was pleasantly surprised that the wait would only be 10 to 15 minutes.
They use GoSocial to notify you of when your table is ready and you have 5 minutes to claim your table once they send you a message.
The front area where the bar and high top tables are located was still crowded but there were a couple of tables in the back area available.
We were seated with a food and drink menu. I ordered the Speakeasy cocktail which comes in a tall glass of deliciousness. I also ordered the Adobo Chili Glazed Wings, the Deviled Eggs, the Philly Cheesesteak Flatbread, and the special bourbon flight (I love that it included a glass of water-drink responsibly).
Lastly for dessert, I ordered the drop donuts that included a chocolate raspberry dipping sauce. Yum!
Needless to say I brought my appetite with me.
Our server Ivy was nice and very attentive.
We enjoyed our food and service. I look forward to returning and trying other items on the menu. (Review also...
