We stopped into Theodores for dinner on a Saturday evening at 7pm The restaurant was pretty busy but we were seated relatively quick. Having glanced at the menu prior to getting there we knew what we wanted. For starters we ordered the citrus glazed pork belly. It was good but not great. There was quite a few pieces that shouldn’t have been served as they were too fatty. Nevertheless it was a solid 3.5-4/5 They brought a delicious bread to the table which was a nice touch. The butter was infused with garlic. We both ordered ribeyes for dinner that came with soup or salad. I got the beet salad but also ordered the lobster bisque. The beet salad was good but it was lacking. Too much vinegar and the beets didn’t look terribly freshly cooked. 3/5. The lobster bisque was very tasty although I don’t think I had any lobster in it, 4/5 The main course of char crusted ribeye was very good. Served with whipped mashed potatoes. My ribeye was perfectly cooked and served with a Demi glaze atop. The glaze was good but it was a little overpowering. If I were ordering again, I’d get on the side. Nevertheless, it was still a solid 8/10. Service was exceptional, 5/5. Thanks Manuela Overall I’d give it a solid 4/5 considering.

My partner and I stopped by Theodore’s after a long, beautiful day in the Park. Based on the menu and pictures we had seen, we were excited and looking forward to having a high-quality, carefully crafted meal experience. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed. I had the bison osso buco with the lobster bisque, and my partner got the blackened salmon with the beet salad. The soup did not taste fresh at all and the uneven temperature was a clear indicator of being briefly heated in the microwave. The dried, wilted basil flakes on the oily surface next to the chewy bread were not appetizing in the slightest. The beets in the salad were overly marinated and the greens were starting to wilt. The bison osso buco had decent flavor overall, but the meat was dry and chewy. It seemed to have been sitting for a while and reheated, even though we arrived shortly after they opened for dinner. The green beans were overcooked and seemed to be from a frozen bag. The mashed potatoes were surprisingly very good, with a creamy texture and rich, complex flavor. The salmon itself seemed to be relatively fresh despite being in one of the most landlocked regions in the entire continent. However, it was sadly very overcooked. The spices and sauce were unremarkable and it was overall a very dry dish. The service was average — nothing incredible or bad by any means. Our waters were kept full and we didn’t feel forgotten at any point. Our total for these two meals was $86 before tip. At this price, I feel it is reasonable to expect an above-average level of finesse and attention to detail with each dish. Our experience was sadly sub-par at best. The quality of ingredients is almost where it should be, but the execution is uninspired and lazy. My recommendation would be to avoid the disappointment and take your money elsewhere. I am not typically one to write negative reviews, but I felt it was important to warn others to steer clear of this establishment.

Best Bar and Drink ever. We were traveling through and happened to go out to have a drink while staying in Medora ND. Donnie, the bartender, is the most professional, crafty and fun bartender we've ever encountered. We have traveled all over the country and have been to many many bars but we had the most pleasant experience with Donnie. He has made us Lemon Drop, Old fashioned, Apple Martini, Orange Cream Martini and all of them are incredible. It's really like a magic. He can make any drink and they are best of the best. They are not like a regular drink you order at other bars. They are really fresh and special. He makes the bar a happy place for everyone. It's like all the strangers at the bar ended up became good friends. He has a way with drinks and people. We came here two days in a row. We stayed there for a long time just because it was such a good time. Thank you, Donnie. We will come back next time we get to the area 100%!

Upscale, classy restaurant great for a nice dinner out/date night. Food is excellent and portions are quite filling. Service is attentive, formal, and well-trained. You can arrive in casual clothes and not feel awkward (many people were), but it makes it special if you dress it up for a nice meal. There are interesting pictures and letters from Roosevelt on the walls, stained glass, and a beautiful historic fireplace. The bison osso buco is tender and delicious, and really something else to try if you have only ever had veal osso buco. This is definitely a wine place, but there are a few beer selections and they are local. They also have a separate bar area. Bar and restaurant are found at the street corner, but this is connected in the same building as the Rough Riders Hotel. We came on a busy night, had no trouble finding street parking.

This restaurant is located in the historical hotel rough riders where I was staying. Apparently it’s also the best restaurant in town. We didn’t have a reservation so we were seated in the bar area table which I don’t mind. There’s only one bartender working in that whole area but he was very efficient. We told him that we had the Medora musical in an hour, he got our order in and had our dishes out at no time. We got to finish within an hour. The food is phenomenal, I had a the bison shank, it a huge chunk of meat, it falls apart. Really good portion for the price you pay, the food also comes with a salad or lobster bisque, the lobster bisque is really delicious. Highly recommend to get that option.

Today we attended the Teddy Roosevelt Brunch in Medora, just outside the South Unit entrance to the NP. It comes with a breakfast buffet, which included scrambled eggs with cheese, and hash brown casserole with cheese, along with many other choices. So we were fat and happy when the former president took the stage. We live in Orlando, so we are used to "character" interactions at Disney. I saw him before the show and called him Mr. President, and he said, "My friends call me Colonel." Colonel it is! He was a great storyteller, and it was about an hour of him hitting the highlights and heartaches of his public and private life. If you can afford the cost, it's worth it. We had a great time.
