Update I usually really love Hollywood feed. I tell people to patronize you. I've been coming to your store since the 1990's at your Broad St location. But the last two times I've gone, everyone in the store gets helped. Even after all of the other customers leave, I'm still there and no one has asked me if I needed anything, not a hello not a can I help you not anything. They did tell me that I could have a nice day and I....you know what, I can be told goodbye anywhere, which is why I walked out and am sitting in front of Petco typing this right now.
Do I always need help? No. But I worked at Nordstrom and Bloomingdales and would never have made top seller if I picked and chose my customers in this way. I would never have ignored any customer. I would much rather support local business - but you guys really need to work on your customer service - with every customer. I'm leaving my last review to underline how extremely disappointed I am.
One of your employees always has great eyeshadow, and they always ask if I need help. It's too bad they weren't there today. Always very friendly (sorry I can't remember their name, but they're the only one with makeup, so it can't be hard to figure out.) Poplar location next to Huey's and Petvax.
Always helpful + great customer service. They have grain as well as grain-free options, are very knowledgeable about their stock, & always offer to help you to your car if your purchase is heavy. Their prices are good, your pets are happy, and you get to support a local business. Win-win! I recently bought their Salmon oil for my dog's skin problem (German Shepherd mix). He didn't have fleas (PetVax verified this), but his skin was so itchy! They explained the high omega 3 concentration in salmon oil might help, so I tried it. His skin cleared up and his fur looks a-ma-zing! ♥️ This place

This store has recently expanded, the aisles are nice and wide, the shelves are arranged to display the items without feeling cluttered or claustrophobic, the sales price was clearly marked on each item, and as a bonus, the bathrooms were both large and clean. They also offer baths and grooming by appointment, and thar area was spotless. The staff was super nice and helpful. I was in the store for about 30 minutes, and 4 or 5 people asked if I needed assistance. Someone even carried my large bag of dog food to my car !
I usually just have our dog food dropped shipped to our home, so it was nice to actually visualize the large variety of items and foods readily available.
Sadly, my dogs are really small, and I am really particular about certain items that I purchase for them. I have been looking for a new harness for Delilah that is stylish, fits well, is comfortable and cool for long hours of travel, and most importantly, is safe, (Small dogs are at risk for crushed tracheas, and a poorly fitted harness can be a big risk!) I can not tell you how many different stores I have visited without success. She wears a xxs or occasionally a xs, but many manufacturers just do not make them that small. (Her sire was even harder to fit at 3lbs even. xxxs always for him.) This location had the brand, style, and size of her current harness, but I was really looking for an upgrade, so we didn't get a new harness. They said someone had given them counterfeit bills the other day and needed to check my money. I was told it "wasn't me," and they were just being cautious. That's fine, as I was genuinely curious as to how a fake passed the marker test. I was beyond nice and had exactly $300 with me that I had gotten out of the bank on Saturday. I was extremely patient as all 3 employees examined each of my bills, marked them and continued to say how "strange" they looked. Despite appearances (apparently), I'm a nice, professional entrepreneur who has honestly never seen a counterfeit in my life. I was beyond pissed but stayed composed and paid by credit card like a nice guy should because I have lots of things to do and don't have time to argue.
I was a loyal customer of Hollywood feed for the past 12 years; the keyword here is "was." After my Fromm's rewards are done, I will no longer spend my money at any of these locations. Loyalty obviously means nothing and neither does my word. For a company that is constantly expanding with multiple locations you'd think they'd be able to have a way to tell real money from fake other than squinting into the light and writing on it with a counterfeit pen.
As a side note, a quick 2 second Google result revealed a $130 counterfeit scanner on Amazon. Are they hurting for money that bad that they can't afford...
