We stopped here because we were craving ramen and happened to be nearby, so we decided to give it a try. We were excited at first, especially since the place advertised ramen, but we noticed the 3.5-star Yelp rating and were a little hesitant. Still, we wanted to give it a chance. Unfortunately, being our first time, it was disappointing. Right from the start, we were confused about how the ordering process worked. We asked a staff member for help, but she didn’t explain much. She wasn’t necessarily rude, just very serious and not very welcoming, which made things feel a bit off. When it came to the ramen itself, the menu didn’t offer many options. I ordered a pork broth ramen (I can’t remember the exact name), and while it had a lot of toppings that looked promising, the flavor and overall dish were just okay. Not terrible, but definitely not what I expected, especially since I’ve had better ramen before. My friends also ordered ramen, and two of them tried boba — they said it was alright. Another friend got a classic tea, which was just okay as well.
The aesthetic of the restaurant was nice and visually pleasing, but sadly, the food didn’t live up to it. I don’t think ramen is their strong point. I ended up eating part of my meal, but I didn’t really enjoy it and couldn’t finish it.
Overall, it wasn’t the worst, but it wasn’t great either. I don’t think I’ll be coming back — at least not...
Read moreWithout exaggerating, I can say that the service I had today may have been worse than any restaurant I’ve ever been to, which is disappointing because the food here is great. Right from the start, our server was messing up- he wasn’t sure what soups go with the lunch special, he brought out the wrong soup, forgot our utensils for 5 minutes after that, and he never got my mother-in-law her hot water. Our food came out when we had just started with our soup because of this. After the soup came out, we NEVER saw our waiter again. Someone from the kitchen came to bring the food out, and that’s it. No one checking on us to see if the food came out okay. No one came by to fill up the waters that were empty before the food ever came out. Still didn’t have that hot water. Finally, at least 5 minutes after we had finished eating and staring toward the front hoping to make eye contact with someone, a different server came by to give us our check, and we asked him for the water instead. After he dropped the check off, we waited 10 minutes (having made eye contact with the man who gave us the check multiple times) before just going up to the register and paying that way. Despite the food consistently being very good here, we are going to be taking a break from Chang’s...we have never felt so neglected at a restaurant, despite only two other tables in the restaurant...
Read moreI LOVE coming to this place. I’ve been to so many different boba tea restaurants in Tennessee, and this one is BY FAR my favorite. The atmosphere is calm, inviting, and family friendly.
I’ve yet to come across a place that tops their house made Brown Sugar Milk Tea.
Also, My favorite dish to eat from here is the Tantanmen ramen soup. (You can opt your pork meat for chicken meat if you desire, as the soup base is chicken broth). MUAH! Delicious. I know I may sound dramatic, but I’m not one to normally leave reviews, so I wanted to do that for this place because I want to make sure they receive the business they deserve.
You guys have to come here if you already haven’t! If it’s your first time, get the brown sugar milk tea, sweetened to 100%, and ask for the cheese foam on top. You’ll surely love it! And if not, there is a variety of boba options for you to choose from - and if boba is not your style, you can opt out the pearls and just have the drink! It’s your choice - Either way, you’ll get a tasty treat if...
