**New China on Kirby, Memphis, TN - If you're considering dining at New China on Kirby in Memphis, let me save you the trouble: I *highly* recommend you look elsewhere. Today marked my first—and will be my last—visit to this establishment, and it was nothing short of a disaster. I ordered a Seafood Boil “Combo C” (shrimp, crab legs, sausage, potatoes, corn), with a side of eggs and broccoli, along with 8-piece buffalo chicken wings. The fact that I’ve already decided not to return speaks volumes. First off, I picked up my order, and the smell of the food was promising—until I opened the bag at home. The first thing that caught my eye was the crab legs. They were covered with small black dots. Now, I’m no stranger to seafood, but I had never seen this before, and it made me pause. A quick internet search reassured me it was harmless, but it wasn’t exactly a reassuring sight. Upon further inspection, things only got worse. I dove into the seafood first, eager to try the sauce I’d been recommended. I had asked for the “house special,” a combination of all their sauces with hot seasoning. What I got was essentially a watery red soup with no flavor depth. The crab legs were bland, and the sauce... even blander. The potatoes? Just as uninspiring—no seasoning, no effort, just plain, flavorless potatoes floating in a lackluster broth. At this point, I was beyond disappointed. I barely touched the seafood and moved on to the wings, hoping they would redeem the meal. I opened the box only to find that the buffalo wings weren’t even remotely coated in sauce. Some pieces had a thin layer on the front, while others were completely dry. How does a place serve buffalo wings with *no* sauce coverage? I can’t even call it “buffalo-flavored” because it wasn’t even enough to call a proper sauce job. Frustrated, I called the restaurant to voice my concerns. The customer service only added to the disappointment. The young man on the phone was unhelpful and dismissive, offering no apology for the poor quality of the food. When I mentioned the wings and seafood weren’t up to par, he bluntly told me they don’t issue refunds. As for the wings, he stated “that’s just how they make them”. Really? That’s the excuse? And when I asked for a resolution, all he suggested was “adding more seasoning” to the already disappointing seafood bag. No offer to make things right or even to cook a new batch of food. Long story short: this was a complete waste of time and money. The food was bland and lacked any sense of effort or flavor, and the service was dismissive and uninterested in customer satisfaction. I would *not* recommend New China to anyone—don’t waste your money here, and don’t waste your time hoping for a better experience. This was my first and last visit. You won’t see me back, and I certainly won’t be recommending this place to anyone, not even my dog. Avoid it at all costs.

I came In an ordered to eat in. They brought it to go! I’m I ordered it for here. They did not apologize it was jest like here is your fork. I ordered the Orange Chicken and the Crab Meat Rangoon. The Orange Chicken was okay A little hard to enjoy because of the orange peels. The Crab Meat Rangoon was like a corn starch. No meat no cheese just a runny gooey something. I let the know nicely this is not Crab Meat Rangoon. The guy behind the counter said it’s imitation. I said you still should be able to see it. So I did a video. You be the judge.

Mahilig ako sa Chinese food. That's I love Chinese food in tagolog. And I do, this is my favorite place. The size of the settings are huge and of course it's always made fresh to order. With plenty of meat and veggies, some of which you can only get at a Chinese restaurant. I got the Hunan Family. The wait time is minimal too but I don't mind waiting for this!

I was highly disappointed from the moment I placed my order to the time I finally got to eat. The person on the phone was extremely short and rude to the point that they hung up on me before I was finished with the call. They didn't ask for a name or number to differentiate your order from someone else's that might be similar.

When I arrived, the lobby/restaurant was empty. I was ignored for a good 5-7 minutes until an older gentleman walked in. Even then, there was not prompt service but at least the gentleman behind me was told that they'd be right with him.

I ordered white rice to go with my General Tso's chicken. I was given fried rice that was undercooked. They obviously use the same chicken as the sweet and sour but with a different sauce. It was nothing special. The fried cheese wontons were hot but stale and overly sweet. Overall, I'm not impressed and will...
