I will first start off by saying this restaurant has the worse employees, management is unprofessional and argumentative. I’m assuming it was either the language barrier or simply a power trip. The one lady went as far as to say she was the owner of the establishment. Then there was a young guy who said he was a manager walking around with passion marks all on his neck. He had the audacity to come to our table and get jazzy when someone tried to explain what the young lady wanted. His words “ she can speak for herself”, but apparently no one could comprehend what was being said and that is why it took sending the food back 3 times in order to get it right. When she asked if some kind of compensation could be provided for the inconvenience she was told NO! It was not her fault that the kitchen staff didn’t know what they were doing. The manager and her staff kept insisting we pay for food that had already been paid for. I dare you expect people to pay gratuity when the food was not correctly done, we had to wait an extended amount of time to get food and service, I had to ask at least 5 times for water, and no one got refills. On top of that the restaurant has roaches. Picture posted below. If you want to have a good time avoid this restaurant!!

My food came out (10 minutes) after everyone else's. The margarita special didn't have much cheese. I won't be returning. ETA (to owner's response) Oh good, you mentioned the dip… Let’s be clear—free, no charge, whatever—I asked for the cheese dip I paid for. It’s right there on my receipt. I ordered it separately while paying because the food had minimal cheese and I was still hopeful the meal could be salvaged. The waitress misunderstood and assumed I was paying for my sister (someone with a $100+ tab, by the way). She didn’t own up to it, and the dismissive attitude when I came back was unacceptable. And to top it off—speaking Spanish about me right in front of me? Completely unprofessional. Honestly, with how mid the food was, the customer service should’ve at least been on point. No worries though, as I said—I won’t be back. Just wanted to share my experience. Have a great day!

A little taste of something further south; I been to this establishment before some years back and it remains consistent in its service and friendliness of the staff. The server was vested in balancing his time between the large group we had and several other tables. One tiny little diner caught everyone's attention as she cheerfully looked around and baby-talked across the room to us when some at the table drew her attention. She had rose colored chubby cheeks and a beautiful smile. Seeing those doll eyes light up as she peeked around and giggled at the different sounds filtering from our table. It was an enjoyable experience to see her while catching up with old acquaintances. Our server did a great job managing the group, and going from the three other tables as well as making his way between the two areas. The food was good and it's accessible from a major interstate.

The service was horrible at the El Toro Loco on Kirby on 02/23/23 during the night shift. The waitress was very rude! She yelled when asked why we received our libations in plastic cups instead of glasses. We wanted to make sure we were getting what we paid for. After yelling, she walked away from our table, returning with another plastic cup with water in it and a glass to demonstrate the equivalence of the two by pouring the liquid back and forth. I explained that we wanted a glass and she stated they didn't have any (🤔, how were you able to demonstrate the difference with a glass?). The guests behind us arrived after us, and received their libations in glasses, 🤔. Our waitress disappeared for 20 minutes and finally came back to take our order. While trying to order, she was a bit snappy with her responses, but I ignored it. Our food didn't take long to arrive, and it was delicious! Once our waitress dropped our food off, she didn't return. A good 35 minutes passed before I finally had to go find her to bring the check. She never returned to take payment, so my friend was fed up and asked to speak with a manager. They said a manager was not on duty. My friend wanted the tip removed due to the poor service, and nothing was done. The waitress even approached her at the counter, and rolled her eyes and walked off. The workers at the counter still made her pay the 18% tip. The waitress never came back to take my payment, so we left it on the counter. I WILL NOT be returning to this location. Although the food was good, the service...

This place had to be one of the worst experiences I have had at a restaurant.. None of our food came out together it was only 3 of us, it was staggered for some odd reason.. and the food that came out last look like it sat under a warmer so long the top was burnt.

The waitress was useless and couldn't comprehend the problem. They offered no resolution.. basically a shoulder shrug.

Then we get the bill and they add 18% for a party of three.. I have never seen such a thing especially at a place with such crappy service. How about you pay your staff, train your staff and cook good food. maybe then you would not have to force people to TIP... something that is awarded when someone does their job correctly. Not a forced fee on someone.

Get out of here with this forced tip crap...

This place had to have changed ownership.. I don't see how you could even have 4 stars..

WOW.. I need to read these review responses closer before picking a place to eat.. The gall of these responses is amazing.. Telling someone to check the tip policy of every restaurant you visit?!?! WOW

How about not being a shady greedy business. No reputable place charges "Gratuity" on a single or small group.. So this is not something a normal person would expect walking in to a restaurant. I doubt this place will be around much longer based on the unfriendly responses, bad services and poor business practices. And the food isn't even close to good enough to make up for any of those...

Last night 5-6-2023 was my first time eating food from that restaurant, the food was okay, it wasn't the best food I ever had. The manager that was there last night, is very, very RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. I order my food online 40 minutes before I got there, it was confirmed that my order would be ready at 8:05p.m. When I got there, my food was not ready at all, they haven't even started cooking it yet. I waited an additional 40 more minutes for them to prepare my food, that I ordered online 40 minutes prior before I arrived at the restaurant. Quite naturally, I was very upset about that, the manager that was there last night, questioned me like I was a child, by saying very rudely to me yes or no do I still want my food, instead of her being professional and polite like she should have been and apologizing for my food not being ready on time, like it was confirmed on their website. I stood my ground with her, I most definitely let her know, I don't know who she thought she was talking to like that, I told her about herself, you don't talk to me like that, I'M A GROWN WOMAN!!! I told her she NEEDS to LEARN how to talk to paying customers. If it wasn't for us customers patronizing their business, they wouldn't have a restaurant business. That was my first and most definitely my last time, giving that restaurant my business!!! I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK TO THAT...
