I was really excited to visit this place since I’m a big sushi lover, and the idea of an “all you can eat” sushi restaurant was something completely new for me. That’s why I took the time to leave this detailed review.
1️⃣ Location and access: Excellent. The restaurant is very well located, with easy access and plenty of parking. 2️⃣ Interior and design: Absolutely stunning. As soon as you walk in, the place makes a strong impression — the lighting, the bar on the left, the big screens… everything is spotless and beautifully designed. One of the nicest restaurant layouts I’ve seen in a while. 3️⃣ Service: Very good. We were seated quickly, food came out in a timely manner, and the staff was attentive throughout — clearing empty plates, refilling drinks, and checking in to see if we wanted to add anything else. 4️⃣ Food: This is where the experience didn’t meet my expectations. Honestly, the sushi felt very generic and lacked anything special. I’d compare it to the sushi sold at Kroger. Even though it was freshly made, the rolls were falling apart, poorly assembled. We ordered a squid salad that was extremely salty and tough. There were also a few “safe” kid-friendly options like chicken and shrimp fried rice, which were okay — but definitely not what I came here for. 5️⃣ Price: It felt overpriced at $28.95 per person with no drinks included. And while I understand the “you pay for what you don’t eat” policy, the truth is I forced myself to finish several items just to avoid the extra charge. The dessert was also a disappointment: we ordered ice cream and got tiny supermarket-style containers with metal spoons. I couldn’t help but laugh — it felt like I was eating at home.
To compare, there’s another amazing sushi spot here in Memphis with three locations, where you can get a high-quality 8-piece roll for $12–$15. When my family and I go there, we usually order three rolls, some salads, and appetizers, spend about $60–$70, and still have leftovers to take home.
I truly wish this restaurant the best, and I hope they consider improving the quality of the sushi — because the space and the service definitely deserve it. But in my opinion, the food should be the star, and unfortunately, it wasn’t. And please… fix the ice cream...
Read moreAs a sushi lover that has been to several sushi restaurants this by far has been the worst experience for my every Sushi Friday tradition with my son. I dined in with my son and made a suggestion to waiter(who was nice) about my sons roll having too much cream cheese. My son still ate his food but didn’t want to say how bad the sushi was. The manager came over and said “looks like you ordered too much sushi and now you can’t finish” I then began to explain that too much sushi was not the problem. And if I was being completely honest instead of nice I should’ve told him everything was poor quality. For example the avocado was completed mushy on the dragon roll and it had little to none eel. The fried rice was bland chicken with rice in a bowl with pepper. The crab puffs filling was straight cream cheese and the yummy roll was straight cream cheese as well with an imitation crab mixed that was straight out of a grocery store….I said all that to say this a suggestion is not saying we ate too much it is a suggestion and I simply stated less cream cheese…Now would that have made this meal better? No! But because it was so bad I decided to say something just to get racially profiled by the owner and some of his staff. I left that part out which was my first sign to leave ! His staff (that acted like they couldn’t understand me )that cleaned the tables, stared at me and my son the entire time rolling their eyes before we can order. One of the cooks came out of the kitchen to stare as well before we had drinks or anything. My son wanted me to say nothing, but this was way too bad of service on a “Good Friday”. If you know good sushi and service this is not the space for you. Cordova had some good spots over the years Isushi was my favorite for a decade. Now I might have to drive to South haven at Kabuki or Akita. Don’t waste your money. Also be careful with speaking different languages in front of guess my son and I are fluent in languages that was used today. Have a...
Read moreProbably hands down the BEST lunch places in the wolfchase area. They have been open now for around 9 weeks and we have been at a minimum 15 plus times. The food is great freshly made every time and brought to your table. Some of the appetizers are tappas plates which is great, salads come in small bowls to enjoy. Sushi is either rolls or hand rolls which i love. My favorite is the Salmon tataki i get 2 orders so it is 4 small sashami pieces. The soup is perfect. My kids love the fried rice with terraki chicken or steak as well as the noodles. My husband loves the white tuna sashami and our son loves the tuna niageri and can eat 20 plus pieces all on his own . Where else can you go and eat until your full for $18.95 plus tax and tip per person. The food is amazingly delicious, fresh and served to you at your table. I have seen some of the other comments and EVERY RESTAURANT has a break down where they learn and adjust and this place is no different. The only drawback i have found is its to hard to choose what to try next. I love the seaweed salad, kani salad and snowcrab salad. I love that each dish is small enough to try and if you don’t like it no big waste. The shumai is great. I can’t recommend this place enough. We will be there tomorrow for lunch as a matter of fact. The managers are very nice and the staff is great and on the ball. I know when our son is home from College this is his request daily. Give them a try it is fantastic. They only charge you if you order a ton of food and don’t eat it. But this is...
