This is not your everyday run of the mill typical Chinese restaurant. Harvey Moys is a one of a kind Chinese cuisine experience. My mom grew up in Menomonee Falls. And fell in love with Harveys. So ever since I was born we would travel back to Harvey Moys from Oshkosh for my birthday every year and just because there is nothing like it in the Fox Valley. Sadly my mom has passed but I still make the trip every year on my birthday and whenever I get the urge. It is well worth the hour + trip! Everything is made fresh and delicious! Their soup is fresh, the broth is light and nothing like the 'regular' Chinese restaurant's soups that coagulate before your eyes. The egg rolls.. oh my gosh! They are huge. Crisped to perfection, and filled to the brim with fresh ingredients. Back in the day Harveys was a buffet. So it's difficult to have to choose just one dish. But I always stick to my absolute favorites... Sweet and sour chicken with Hong Kong noodles. The breading on the chicken is crispy and savory. The best breading I've ever had. The chicken tastes fresh, the pieces are very big and nothing like the left over scraps most Chinese restaurants hide under their breading. The sweet and sour sauce is to die for. It's yellow, creamy, savory.. my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Now, the Hong Kong noodles... Whenever I'm asked "if you were trapped on an island and could only have one food, what would it be"? I always say Harvey Moys Hong Kong noodles with his sweet and sour sauce. That's how good they are! It's hard to describe them but they are thin, light, dry and packed with a flavor that'll make you drive an hour to eat them. The atmosphere is charming, romantic and exotic. Featuring beautiful vases, ivory art, Chinese lanterns, Chinese dragon heads and the walls are covered in pictures of the charismatic owner, Harvey, with the many celebrities that have patronized his establishment. Bob Eucker was a regular and even has his favorite duck dish named in his honor. The prices are more than reasonable for the huge portions, the genuinely unique and delicious dishes he offers. If you ever want real Chinese cuisine, I highly recommend Harvey Moys! You will not be disappointed I guarantee it! I wish I would have taken more pictures but as soon as those Hong Kong noodles hit the table, my fork hit the plate and I didn't look up until I was filled to the brim! I almost forgot to tell you not to forget the giant Buddha belly for good luck!

My husband and I stopped into Harvey Moy's for the first time and it was amazing! The server was so welcoming and friendly and the dining area was clean and well decorated. I must say I am extremely shocked - for the prices of the meals, they have HUGE portions! We ordered the egg roll and soup add on for only $3 and the egg roll was the biggest we've seen. All made fresh. We tried two different soups - Wonton and Egg Drop. While those were not our favorite (first time trying) everything else was on point. The Crab Rangoons were my favorite and we're massive. One Rangoon was the size of 2-3 typical ones elsewhere. They were stuffed with more crab than cream cheese, a true deal. We were full by the time our entrees came around! The Orange Chicken was crunchy and sweet and the Mongolian Beef with Fun Chow noodles were tasty. We brought a ton of leftovers (three containers!) back to the hotel. Outstanding flavor and service. Even more, we got a cookie with our bill!

recently ordered takeout from Harvey Moyes Chinese Restaurant in Menomonee Falls, including the chicken egg foo young and shrimp fried rice. Unfortunately, the packaging for the chicken egg foo young was poorly handled. When I got home, I discovered that the gravy had leaked through the bag, covering all my other containers of food. I called to explain the situation and spoke with a someone named Elliot. He initially promised me a 50% discount as compensation. However, when I tried to place an order today, I was told the discount only applied to the chicken egg foo young, which felt unfair given that the poorly packaged item had ruined my entire order. I couldn't even get a full refund, which left a bad taste, both literally and figuratively. On top of that, the person who answered the phone was incredibly rude, which only added to my frustration. This experience left me disappointed and unlikely to return.

The worst Chinese food I have ever had. Man... Where do I start? Won ton soup had no won tons in it, the soup was room tempurature, not hot, not even warm. The leafy greens in the soup (cabbage?) tasted old and funky. Next up was my son's steamed dumplings, they looked quite large but were incredibly doughy and only a small amount of bland meat - lots of dough and air and not good at all. Tea was pre-brewed/steeped and it was OK but not good. The next item was a REAL SURPRISE - my eggroll. You know how when a kid wants a fozen popscicle and they want 'red' flavor or 'purple'? Those aren't really flavors but you get the idea. My eggroll, albeit hot and recently fried, was Refrigerator flavored. The ingredients were all wilty and it tasted just like what you would think an old refrigerator would taste like. I am not saying this to insult the business, I am saying it because it is the most acurate description I could even fathom for this nasty flavor. Next up was my general chicken, where they actually did a pretty decent job of breading the chicken to have a nice crunchy shell but that is the only compliment I will give this dish. The chicken was dry and sort of had a sawdust-like mouthfeel after chewing. The sauce was WAY too sweet and had very little of the savory back-end you would expect from general chicken. Portions were decent sized. Last on the list is the white rice. My lord... They couldn't mess this up, right? You would be wrong if you thought that. The rice wasn't burnt but it was considerably overcooked, so much so that you were eating pieces of broken, mushed up rice. Rice should be soft and retain the individual grains, whether you like it dry, sticky or somewhere in between. The fact that the rice was mushy and not a single whole grain of rice could be discerned means the rice was either cooked way too long or it was reheated at least once. Ingredients were not fresh, many were not even hot or cooked correctly, flavors were terrible and the price for the food was what you would expect to pay at an upscale chinese restaurant. The restaurant was very short staffed as our waitress was also the hostess and running the phones. I empathize with what is going on in the world with the labor market, staffing issues etc. I would be amazed if this restaurant is here this time next year if they do not make some...

Finally went to Harvey Moy's. It was a Sunday evening, about 5:30 PM. My wife was with me. It wasn't crowded. The inside was very clean and had very nice decor. We were seated promptly. We looked at the menu. I ordered appetizers right away. I knew we would need some time to decide what we would order. We each ordered a drink. For being a slow night at the restaurant, our server wasn't too attentive. All seem to be moving very slow. We did get our drinks, no appetizers. We ordered our entries. My wife and I had good conversation. I finished my drink and waited for quite a while before seeing our server. I ordered a second drink. My wife and I talked and waited. Our food came. That was very good but I asked the server what about my drink and the appetizers. She said there was no one working at the bar at this time. She forgot to put the order in for the appetizers. My wife and I started on our entries. The food was very good. My drink and appetizers finally came. We tried the appetizers, they were good. Besides the slow service, it was a very good time. I suspected our server might be a new, very young, employee. My wife and I had a quiet dinner in a very nice restaurant, though I wasn't expecting this much time at the restaurant. The price for our dinners was alright. My wife and I will probably try this restaurant again. The choices of entries is large. We'll try...
