Picture it. 1999. I was much younger then, and a manager of a DD in Rhode Island. Business was kick a$$. Donuts were fresh, the case was full and out most popular donuts were available for our guests until at least noon. And our case always had fresh donuts.
Picture it. 8am and on our way to church on a cold Sunday. My guy decides to forgo his normal donut shop that he stops at that also sells gas, diesel and fried chicken (yes the place with the glazers.) We walk up to the counter and I ask if there are any jelly filled munchkins. Um no. They usually sell out right away. My mind takes me back to the 90's when we sold lots of munchkins and always made sure there were at least 5 varieties available every single morning, all morning. Not here. Oh no!
So I'm 20+ years older and don't have my glasses and asked if they have any crullers. You mean French crullers, no plain stick like cake donuts. I get it, we are far from Massachussets and Rhode island where every little kid knows pink and orange means coffee milk and a bag of munchkins. But no, I'll just take a plain donut. The cake one. And then off we go, and two bites later it was out the window. There is no way I would ever willingly risk the lives of motorists and deer again by throwing a stale nasty donut out the window. I apologize to anyone who may have gotten a flat by running over it, thought they hit a speed bump and spilled their coffee or saw a deer choking on the mysterious disaster of a donut on the shoulder of 94 W.
Note to self. Gas station glazers from now on....
Read moreTerrible experience. I work for doordash and was there three times today. The first time I was there, the black lady with the longer hair that was working, said out loud that she didn't want to accept any doordash orders. The older guy that was working said that they can't do that. The lady then said well it ain't happening today. I had to call doordash to cancel the order as I had been waiting for 15 minutes. The second time I was there another employee asked if I was picking up for doordash. I said yes then asked if it was almost ready. I had been there for 10 minutes. She had a huge attitude and said she just had to get the donuts ready. She then slammed the donuts on the counter and said there you go. The older guy apologized for the wait. The third time I was there, the customer ordered a large iced coffee. The cup wasn't even full to the top. I contacted corporate and am waiting for...
