I went last night and sat at Calvien's table. The service was great, I had went to Turlock Chili's and ordered the 3 plus me . It was so good so I decided to try it in Merced. My server/waiter Calvien was great. He got the drinks and chips and salsa on time. He provided refills and even brought out water. He informed the kitchen of my order of the Three and Me, side order of Mayo, and loaded potatoe soup, and Macaroni and cheese as the side with Mango Tea. The food was prepared and a young lady came out with loaded potatoe soup first. The hamburger and macaroni and cheese came next and Calvien the waiter had to tell the young man that delivered my food about side of mayonnaise cause he didnt see it on the plate. Calvien had put it on the computer as on side instead of adding to the Hamburger. First of all the chips and salsa and Loaded potatoe soup was 5 stars. The macaroni and cheese was 0 stars. It was like watered down cheese soup and the macaroni was not cooked Al dente. And tough therefore, not edible and Horrible. I asked the Calvien-waiter to please have fries instead. The fries were good. The Ranch dressing was watery though. The hamburger came out COLD. In fact the half a piece of cheese on it wasnt even melted. The patty was dry looking. The plate went back and when it came back, they litterly took the same plate and took the patty and heated it up in the microwave to melt the half of piece of cheese and placed it on the same bun and it was greasy. I didnt know the bottom bun was loaded with mayonnaise until trying to pick it up, and it fell apart. Instead of lettuce and tomatoes they put a chopped up salad on the hamburger with Cucumbers pickles and onions and slices tomatoes, which made the bottom bun even more soggy and not edible. That was very disappointing. I Ordered that same old timers burger in Turlock, and it Did not have Salad on it with mayonnaise dressing. It had romaine lettuce and sliced tomatoes. About 4-5 other employees were just standing around near the entrance of the kitchen, Talking and playing, while Calvien my waiter was actually working his dairy air off handeling several tables including mine. The waiter was professional and very attentive, and had shimmy his way through the 4 employees doing absolutely nothing except laughing and talking and NOT working. For 30-45 minutes this went on and the restuarant was busy. Poor Calvien he and another co worker were...
Read moreI went with a group of 8 to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had to wait more than 30 minutes, standing as there was just one seating bench that can fit 3-4 people only and it was taken. It was over 100° outside, and when you walked inside, there wasn't much difference in the temperature. The staff was sweating, customers that were leaving had sweat dripping down their face, I was sweating, my whole group grabbed menus to use as fans in an attempt to cool us down. I asked the staff many times to please adjust the air temperature, and each staff member said the same thing, that the air was at a set temperature and could not be adjusted. When we finally were seated, and got to order our food, I was overheating. Again we asked the staff about the temperature and this time I asked to speak to the manager. He did not come to speak with me but simply sent the same message, that the temperature was at a set number and couldn't be changed. I then asked if they had a fan as I was getting nauseous, no fan they said. My concerned friends asked for a wet towel to put on me to help cool me because they know I have lupus and I'm getting more sick by the minute. Our food came out and by this time I could not even eat nor try to taste anything on my plate. They then came back to my table and said that they were told "no" that I could not even get a wet towel to put in my head to stop me from getting overheated. She did however bring me a wet cleaning napkin to try to help because she had been seeing how sick I was becoming. One of my friends offered to take me home to cool off. So I left my untouched food and my money to pay for the food that I didn't get to eat. I was not able to stay and celebrate my friends 60th birthday. I did not get to see her open the gift I had gotten her, I did not get to participate as I was very overheated in there and the manager did absolutely NOTHING to accommodate me or every customer and every employee in there. He didn't even come to check on my well-being. This was yesterday, July 20th, 2023 in the evening. I paid for my food that I didn't touch because I was so nauseous which really disappointed me. I was lucky however that my friends boxed it up and brought to me. Just an unpleasant experience. I'm very disappointed with the manager as well. Until proper changes are made, I will NOT return to...
Read moreMe and my wife went in for a lunch date and get her birthday dessert at 3pm on a Tuesday. The place was so empty so we expected relitively quick service. The host was friendly but seemed a bit out of it. He opened the door for us and sat us in a booth in the bar section. There was literally 2 people at the bar with a beer and one cocktail, there was 1 person sitting alone at a booth, both parties were already served and taken care of. We give people the benefit of the doubt because we work in the service industry so we know how it is sometimes when you’re flustered. 5 minutes later, nobody still came to take our drink order. Okay fine, we’ll see if the bartender is busy when she gets back we thought. 10 minutes later, she’s still nowhere to be found. Finally 15 minutes later she comes and serves the 1 guest his food, okay she was busy I thought. But usually you should at the very least acknowledge the guests and let them know you will be right with them. Still being very patient we wait to ask for help when she gets back. Once she returns to the floor she fidgets a bit and then asks the 2 people at the bar if they want another drink. Keep in mind I’m staring the entire time making it obvious we need service. She’d glance our way, make eye contact for a second and ignore us still. Finally we’d seen her start fidgeting and what looked like looking for something to do. At that point we got up and walked to the host and asked to get seated in a different section because nobody has even acknowledged us since we sat down 15 minutes ago. Also we kept looking towards the host for help throughout this whole deal but he was at the front on his phone so he never once noticed we were ignored. Once we told him and he sat us in a different section then left to host stand at the front to be on his phone. and he didn’t tell the server he sat us in her section so we were passed over again for another 10 minutes. The host should’ve told the server when he sat us and offered to take our drink order himself. But our experience actually ended very well, our server in that section made all whole ordeal worth the wait. I wish I could remember her name but she was the only saving grace of this experience. Otherwise horrible experience. If that’s what it’s like when is slow I don’t want to know how it’s like...
