Jack in the Box — Restaurant in Merced

This review could not be more perfectly timed.

I went to the grocery store and then to this Jack in the Box on Olive for something to eat. When I pulled in, the drive thru line was full up to the first menu and filling fast. Something must have let out from the college like a ball game. I decided to go inside instead since it is sometimes quicker but there was a line there, also, and also about 90 degrees so I got back in my car and rolled down my windows.

I got in line at 10:21 pm, third from the ordering menu. There was a bit of a wait and I placed my order at about 10:35 (that's when I complained to a friend about the crowd). We all moved forward one car and then sat. All the customers sat in that line so long that me and the truck behind me turned off our motors.

I watched the drive through window carefully and nobody poked out and said anything to the current customer. I was third in line to be served.

I thought, did someone die? Did someone quit? Did they get a bomb threat? Nothing else I could think of would have excused the lack of communication.

I pulled out after being served 29 minutes after I got in line. The reason I was given for the lack of service was "we got busy and are short staffed.". In my view, there was a manager changing out drawers and two people at the window. The cashier seemed to be in training as she asked questions of the employee helping her.

I thought this could have been handled in a much better way. All I know is that if indeed a ball game let out, causing the backup and wait, I won't be going to this place on a game day.

Absolutley terrible! I payed for my order which i NEVER received and got overcharged! Great place to go if you just want your money stolen.

I went for breakfast just before 5am and asked if they were making burgers, they said yes, but it would be a 10 minutes. Instead I ordered a breakfast, but i was told there were no curly fries, so when i asked for options and i chose one, i was charged an additional $1.60, which i was never told about, i only realised once i got my receipt and it didn't look right. Now that's really not too bad.

The problem came when i payed for my order and was told to park....exactly what i was trying to avoid. Well i ended up parking and waiting 20 minutes, and since i had to at work on time, I tried to ask how long my order would be twice by going up to the door and knocking and then by going through to the drive thru machine, but got ignored the whole time. I ended having to leave WITHOUT my order because 20 minutes is way too long to wait and it's not worth waiting and being late to be written up at work. Also to top it all off, when i tried doing their online review, the site kicked me off halfway...

I've come a few times and gotten Takeout, but the majority of the time I order through the official Jack in the Box™ app and pick my order up through the drive thru. Always, without fail, my food comes out hot and fresh, and the customer service is amazing. Always service with a smile, from the cashiers, to the managers on duty. Even after announcing picking up my order, I've gotten asked if I'd like to order anything else, and there's never an issue when I decline the offer. Then upon receiving my order, asked again if there's anything else they can get for me. Say, utensils or condiments. And again, no issues when I decline, and they wish me a good day/night. I love that they have Breakfast All Day, as I usually have a late breakfast as is, and not many places around here in Merced that offer quick breakfast bites. And if they do, they're either highly expensive, or only serve until 10:30 AM. I usually eat around 11:00 AM so this works perfectly for me. Highly...
