I feel like this was an off day for them. The employees mentioned that several workers had not shown up for their shifts and that they were severely understaffed. You could tell they were feeling the added stress. Nobody smiled or had anything particularly nice to say. We were greeted by the cashier by him informing us that it would be about a 45 minute wait. The staff members bickered amongst each other and made snide remarks to each other.
My girlfriend ordered a sweeter crepe and a lemonade. It took an hour to receive her crepe and it was somehow very cold. She said it wasn't that great. Also, her lemonade was basically straight lemon juice. I gagged and almost threw up because it was so overwhelmingly sour.
I have celiac and ordered a gluten-free crepe along with a caramel iced coffee. I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed my crepe, it was perfect! The iced coffee was pretty terrible though and the woman behind the counter was kind of weird when we asked if they had any non-dairy creamer. She said that yes they have some, but didn't ask if we wanted it nor did she go to get any for is. We waited a few mins to see if she would bring any but she seemed distracted. Eventually we asked again and she acted like we had never asked.
Finally, because they were so short staffed, nobody was free to clean up front for a long time and the trash was overflowing like crazy. Eventually one of the staff members got a chance to come up front and clean it.
I feel bad because I know they were short staffed and doing the best they could which is why I'm leaving 3 stars instead of 1 or 2. I really want to like this place because I enjoyed my food and the building itself has a lot of charm and character, but in all honesty we probably won't ever come back.
Edit: I'll also mention that their customer service is complete garbage. After leaving an honest review stating both the bad AND good experiences, I get this response stating that I should just accept the bad service and that they're ok losing the business to people who have anything bad to say about them. How about you use this as a learning experience and work to fix the issues with your store and your staff, not blame the customer. I also work for a small business and would never dream of speaking to my customers this way. I'll also add that one of your employees was screaming profanities from the back room, but I left that out of the original review because I felt bad that they were so stressed out. Learn how to take criticism and maybe you'll be able to run a...
Read moreNot quite sure why they have a phone number, they never pick up the phone. They used to have such a friendly staff and would answer the phone and was just an overall great place to go. For a while now the service has been less than desirable. A big annoyance is no matter when I have called the last two weeks the phone is never answered, 9am, 1030a, 1130a, 1p the phone just rings and rings until it disconnects. The staff is not welcoming when you go in and acts almost like you’re inconveniencing them when they have to stand up or stop their conversations about personal matters or come from out back. Also, their menu is misleading now. They say they offer green apples in their Acai bowels but I was informed that is not accurate and they never have offered them. Also, they say their BYOB Acai bowel is $10 and that you can pick up to 3 fruits and 4 toppings for that price. But when you actually purchase one they charge you an additional fee for each of those toppings whether it be 2 toppings or the 4 they state you can choose up to. Not quite sure why a business would do that rather than being transparent. And when it is brought to their attention they look at you with disgust and no answer for it other than it is what it is. Really sad, used to send my coworkers here and it was a multiple time a week stop. I wish the old staff was back that were kind and inviting and seemed happy to be there and enjoyed their customer base. I really used to love this place and super sad for...
Read moreI don't understand the hub bub. The coffee is not good and the tea lattes are terrible. Lacking flavor. Crepes are ok but too thick. They take forever to fulfill an order, even if there is no line. I want to love it and support their local business... and I have come over and over again trying to love it, but each time is a disappointment. My spouse waited twenty minutes for a simple black iced coffee. I waited thirty minutes for a crepe on a weekday morning with no one there.
The GOOD- Atmosphere. Some of the employees are great (Jared always has a great attitude). The food is good. Not the best but not terrible. You can get a solid crepe but if you have ever been to Montreal or France and had crepes, you will be disappointed. But.. it's New Hampshire and they have their own cute style which is cool. The dessert crepes are yummy.
The ugly- Overpriced, but if it's amazing, I don't mind paying more. It is just not worth the cost. Some employees refuse to acknowledge you when you walk in. I stood in front of the register for a solid 12 minutes once with the girl just staring at me. When I gave feedback, the girl became very defensive.
Sometimes all it takes is a) saying hi when Customers walk in and showing eagerness to help, b) checking in with Customers to explain wait times and c) pricing to match...
