The view was amazing for my hour and half wait for food, which was mediocre at best The FRESHLY SQUEEZED lemonade was terrible, it was so watered-down it was pretty much lemond water, could gotten better lemonade with powder lemonade, we ordered 5 lemonade and they didnt even confirm if it was the freshly squeezed lemonade vs the minute maid lemonade, which caused some mild confusion We also order a few appetizers and entrées, the appetizers took like 20 minutes, which is kind of expected with steamed clams and fried pineapples 🍍 The clam chowder looked disgusting maybe because I am from Boston, but it was gray and watery definitely not appetizing They brought us utensils and tartar sauce about 20 minutes after the appetizers, but we still didn't receive any entrées or the corn fritters (appetizer) 60 minutes after ordering and the waiter continued to insist that it had only been 40 minutes since we order, but I took several pictures and videos of the ducks eating scapes and of the beautiful view that time stamped out wait being 60 minutes already. The waiter waited 5 minutes after putting in the appetizers orders to put our entrées orders. Since we had other things to do with our time, we tried canceling our order and they said our food was already being prepared, but another 15 minutes later still nothing, so we told them to make it take out I was truly thinking of giving a 3 star review after that experience because I get it, it was busy and 6 burgers and fries 🍟 (neighboring table) obviously cook faster than 35 french fries, 3 fried scallops, 4 fried fishes, 3 fried shrimps, and a few clam strips, I felt completely ripped off after opening the takeout boxes like one of the fish and chips had less than 10 fries! Definitely not worth 18.99 I would never come here again and my neck did not appreciate sitting outside in the sun for the entire wait, I got a sunburn waiting because I didnt expect to require sun screen to eat some damn food, but suprise wasted almost 2 hours ...
Read moreWe went to Meredith by boat on a Tuesday and a Sunday. On Tuesday we had a phenomenal waitress! On Sunday....not so much. Our server could not/did not answer questions about the menu. When we asked a question about a menu item we did not like the taste of, he did not apologize or attempt to answer our question. Talked in a circle..never offered to find out the answer. Bottom line...we like Little Neck Clams...these steamers were some huge, chewy kind with a big fat tail. All of the other staff we encountered were super nice and very helpful. Other than the steamers....we loved everything we ate on both days. Fish Tacos, New England clam chowder, burgers, chips and salsa, fried calamari, cod sandwich, and a cod and scallops special. On Tuesday, plenty of dock space. On Sunday, we arrived before noon so had multiple spaces to choose from. By 12:30, the boats were lined up. When we left Meredith at 3:00pm, there must have been close to 15 boats waiting for spaces. People waiting and cutting in front of others like a mall parking lot at Christmas. At noon...the line to eat at Town Docks was 5 min. By the time we left around 1:15, there was a very long line. Finally, bring your insect repellant. Both days we sat at tables in the sand. While the view and breeze were awesome, the sand flies/gnats/fleas/noseeums...whatever they are...were nipping at our...
Read moreIce Cream/Food Allergies I myself work in the service industry and know how annoying customers can be at times so I am only writing this in hopes that going forward as annoying as it can be more caution is taken for people with allergies. They are very common now a days and can have some serious consequences. In the end though it is the customers choice to take the risk or not.
We came to the ice cream stand today with a person in our party who has a relatively severe allergy and needed to be cautious before ordering. The young girl who took our order was very nice and gave us the sheet of allergies for us to review ourselves which I personally prefer. We found an option and before we paid I once again asked that there is caution when making the ice cream. The young girl who made the ice cream however seemed very annoyed that when she served me the ice cream I questioned her about the ingredients in the cone as we had ordered it in a dish to make things easier and have less risk. She initially was going to just throw the cone away and hand me back the same dish which I would have been ok with had the cone been safe but it wasn’t and couldn’t risk it. When I told her this she proceeded to throw/launch the ice cream in the trash and make a new one with an apparent sense of...
