While on vacation, we decided to go here after looking at yelp reviews. It wasn’t far from the Center Harbor Inn where we were staying. I saw online that they had daily specials, a few of them looked interesting. Overall their pricing was very good, especially compared to some of the restaurants in the area. Parking in front, also a lot across the street. Not sure if you can park there, but that’s where we parked. We went around 6, luckily it was not crowded. We were able to sit right down. The place is very outdated, it looks like an older diner from the second you walk in. Our waitress was very friendly and constantly checking on us. She wanted to make sure we enjoyed our experience there.

I ordered the Philly steak sandwich, which is basically a Philly cheesesteak. I didn’t get everything on it, just the cheese, peppers, and onions. I also got fries to go along with my sandwich. The fries were hot and looked to be fresh made, but didn’t have much taste. I added a little salt which I rarely do, that gave them some flavor. The Philly cheesesteak was OK. Couldn’t taste the cheese, and the steak was just OK. Not a lot of flavor but it was hot and fresh. My fiancé and I normally pick two meals and share them. We did not do that today. I sampled some of her country fried steak. I realize that I made a mistake by not sharing. It was flavored deliciously, and fried very tender. The gravy was some of the best that I have eaten. I ended up dipping some of my french fries into it. I would return here just to get the country...

I had never been to this place before. From the outside it just looks like a hole in the wall kind of place, but it is extremely popular with the locals and has been there for a long time. They have a very extensive menu, and the serving staff were very attentive and friendly. That's a very important thing for me. If I'm going out to eat I expect attentive service, and if I don't get it then I give less stars in a review. But our server was attentive and I ordered fish and chips. the person I was with ordered whole fried clams. He loved his food. However, I was a little disappointed that the fried haddock that came out was in small pieces rather than one big piece of fried haddock, so I had to wonder how fresh it was. I rarely give 5 stars for a restaurant, and it doesn't matter if the place is fancy or not. A restaurant earns five stars for me for various other things that. I'm looking at things like cleanliness, quality of service, friendliness, quality of food, things like that. The atmosphere was cozy, just like you would expect from a small town diner. I was there for lunch and they had decent crowd there of what seem to be retired people at lunch time. I may have given it 5 stars if the fried haddock I got with the fish and chips was...

I don't know what has happened to this local classic but our past 2 experiences have been terrible. The first time we had ordered chicken tenders and got fish instead, which would seem like a score if I actually ATE FISH but I do not EVER! The worst part is that I realized it was fish after taking a bite of it completely ruining my appetite. The 2nd incident was last night, first off the girl on the phone acted as if she was being put out by having to take the order to begin with, and then gives me a wait time if 10 minutes, which being in the restaurant business myself tells me they were NOT busy. We ordered a spaghetti dinner with hot Italian sausage, and Italian dressing with the salad, it came with SWEET sausage, Ranch dressing and about a tablespoon of sauce. Considering how expensive George's is now, you would think it would at least be good quality. Very disappointed, especially being in this small town with limited options. Wewill definitely not be back or referring anyone...

Looks nice outside (see pic) Easy to ready and full of variety menu (see pics) Outside eating spots available Decent size obeying Covid guidelines Service- waitresses friendly and attentive to customer experience Coffee-ok but nothing special, hot and never run dry Had omelette Home fries- although tasty undercooked Bread-thick, hot and cooked perfectly Beans-I’ve had better Bacon-Crispy but abit overcooked Omelette-cooked well and full of selected ingredients. To note that the veggies in my omelette were very fresh, perhaps one of the workers have a greenhouse. I’ve been here a few times and is always good, it’s reputation is vast and is always busy but waitresses are fast with food and keep place clean. A bunch of regular customers known by name Note: not handicap friendly Worth a try for a good breakfast

I had a delightful breakfast at George’s this morning. Corned beef hash is easy enough to make. And it was well made. It always comes down to the eggs though, right? And, George has an excellent egg chef. Really not an easy person to find! The poached eggs were brilliant. Nice firm whites and creamy warm yokes. The hash browns were a wee bit undercooked. That was my fault. I like them crispy; and I simply forgot to request that detail. They had Tabasco, which I need for my eggs. Not Frank’s or some other poor substitute. Real Tabasco. The small ramekin of beans was a nice treat. They were piping hot and delicious! I laughed when I noticed that all three utensils were mismatched. Perfect for a greasy spoon cafe. Look closely, and you’ll see that it was!
