Lido's Restaurant & Pizzeria — Restaurant in Meriden

This place is an absolute nightmare. Been here 4 times and never again. Keeps getting worse and worse. This last time the waitresses were absolutely horrible. Never came and asked for our drinks. Seemed to be bothered when we asked for silverware! Seemed to be bothered when we asked questions about the food! ROLLING THERE EYES and had attitudes when asked for basic things we needed at our table. Seemed annoyed that they had to be there. They were not attentive to us at all. The food was disgusting. Burned everything and thrown together like a 5 year old platted it. Food did not all come out at the same time. The waitress brought out a burning bubbling dish of crap late and put it in front of my 8 year old daughter. No warning it was piping hot or apology. And besides the terrible food and poor service the fruit flies are out of control. Flying and buzzing all around the crap food. Let me also mention there was only 3 other tables in there. Not like they were busy just laziness and plain rude. I would not recommend coming to this dump. And to put the cherry on the sundae they add in the gratitudy on the bill so you can't really tip them what there service is worth which is nothing. Whoever reads this needs to train and check there crappy waitresses and maybe get some real Italian chefs back there that know how to cook. This is no Italian restaurant worth...

First off I have been a Lido’s customer on and off for around 20 years. Today Sunday April 25, 2021 at 1:30ish pm I received one of thee worst pizzas ever. Now let me explain why I’m the on and off customer I’ve been. When Pasquale the owner and this older gentlemen make the pies they’re flawless! However there is a kid sometimes working the bench and he has zero clue how to make a pizza. I ordered a vegetable pizza on this day and the top toppings were falling off the pizza with gobs of cheese. I like my pizza crispy on top with less cheese and more toppings. So I order this pizza saying “crispy” on top, but he absolutely burns the bottom and steams the top? Totally has no skill or “feel” for making pizza. I also order early in the day out of respect for the dinner take out between 5 and 7 pm which I know the pizza will be soggy and rushed. If I could make a suggestion if you could please put on your website who’s your pizza makers for everyday of the week with their time slots, so I know not to order when the kid is there. When I order a pizza from Lido’s I expect consistency, or train the kid better...Yeah I’m that person who says make it crispy on top when I order, they know who I am, they probably can’t stand me. Just tell me when Pasquale or the older gentlemen work so I can order a decent...

Well that is not what you want on your first visit to a restaurant. The place was very busy but we got seated promptly. Downhill from there. Our waitress, a woman named Carol, looked miserable. She took our beverage and appetizer order and asked if we needed a minute to think about our dinner choices. Our drinks came out, and she disappeared for a good 10-15 minutes. She came back and we finally ordered. We sat and talked for a while until we noticed that tables around us started receiving their meals. Everyone had bread and butter on the table - not us. More dinners arrived to other tables. Our dinner was missing, so was Carol. After 45 minutes we asked for some bread, a manager ( a blond woman ) brought it right over. Finally we inquired about our meal almost an hour after we ordered. And it magically was on the table 5 minutes later. The manager delivered the food. My party enjoyed their food, mine had no salt in it whatsoever ( Shrimp Ala Lido ). Carol came over and apologized for the delay, then disappeared again until it was time to clean up and bring the bill. We were not offered desert or coffee. On top of that they started vacuuming in the room next to us, it was 8:30 pm and the place was full of people. I have heard great things about this place but will definitely think twice...
