When you hear about a “gourmet burger” joint, you’d expect the burgers to be amazing. This just wasn’t it. The burgers were very very thin. With a name like Moose’s Burger, I think of a big, fat, homemade rustic type burger. So fat you need a big knife to cut into it. But it was quite the opposite. I think my tomato was thicker honestly. I will say the veggies, esp the tomato, were very fresh and delicious though! The burger itself tasted good, but it was by no means anything special. I would compare it to a burger you’d get at a pizza place maybe. I was also surprised to not see a ketchup bottle at the table. A burger and fry place should supply that. They have hot sauce though. When you ask for ketchup, you get the packets, like from fast food places. So that was odd to me. The fries were good but very skimpy. Maybe make the serving trays smaller. Was only a small single layer of fries, was expecting a small pile at least. Esp for the price .Cheese sauce was ok. Didn’t care for the bottled drinks, at least should offer a glass of ice with it. The waitresses have to input the orders into a little portable kiosk type thing. And that took a long time. Maybe they’re just learning idk. Food came out pretty quick though. The owner sat behind a small counter which was a little weird feeling. Every time I looked to my left it appeared that he was staring at us. And listening. I don’t think that was his intention, hopefully, but it was uncomfortable. I get that maybe he wants to make a presence but he looked like a creeper, no offense. Lastly the price was a bit much. Could have paid a little less at Five Guys and got twice the portions, and better quality. Also the building itself is confusing. As far as entering. I wish them luck and think they can improve, hope they listen to the constructive criticism without...
Read moreOverall, this is a good little place that I'll happily return to. I'd say the burger value is pretty good, and it's nice to have some place local to get a decent burger that isn't fast food or a slow dining experience. Now to the details: my meal was about $15 with a single patty cheeseburger, side of fries, and a bottle of water. The single patty was a good size, and the bun was big. I'm not a fan of such large buns, but these were fine. The buns are a traditional brioche but are a bit dry, which is exacerbated by their size in comparison to the rest of the burger. The sauces at Moose's are fantastic, though. Even just the mayo and ketchup somehow tasted special, and the proportion to bun/meat was good. The pickles were bad, though, like another review said. The pickles just don't know what they want to be (sweet or sour), but I'm sure they'll get that recipe worked out. The fries were good, nothing great or bad about them. The drink selection was a limited beer menu or bottled water and Pepsi products. Popcorn was provided as an appetizer, I didn't try it, but I imagine it's nice if you're starving since there is a little bit of a wait. Finally, the vibe here was overall confusing. I'm not sure the place really knows what it wants to be yet. I hope that settles down as they are open longer. The bottled only drinks combined with table service, limited indoor tables, service that isn't quite fast enough to be an in and out experience and a patio that could be comfortable to hang out on, but is a little too small to encourage a slow meal combine to make for a confusing experience. It's further unclear how the place operates when you walk in, not a big deal. I can't wait to see how this place matures and...
Read moreThe food is amazing. I've tried several different burgers. They were all excellent. My favorites so far are the Rise & Shine and the Jalapeno Popper special. For sides, I've had the potato salad, corn and baked beans. They were all very good. I have celiac disease which the staff is familiar with and they offer gluten free buns for a reasonable up charge. The service is very good and the owners are great. Very friendly. It's clean. It's a small space but I love that as it makes for a quaint casual dining experience. They have piped in music... country. It is kid friendly... crayons out on the table with a place to color and draw. Their sauces and condiments are their own and every one I've tried has been very good. They serve beer and wine and also have live entertainment on certain nights. Don't let the name fool you as they have more than just burgers. They have salads, chicken, mac & cheese, chili and even pizza. The moose decor is cute. There's a beautiful painting there of a moose that I love but also some humerous decor and treats like Moose Droppings, Big Foot Poop, etc. The desserts are amazing as well. Try the chocolate mousse! They serve fresh popped buttered seasoned popcorn as soon as you arrive. Yum! They are also handicap accessible. They have an outdoor patio for nice weather. My friend bought some of their swag and a gift card and made a friend a gift basket. Another bonus is that you can earn monetary rewards to use towards future purchases. If you aren't up to going, I know they offer delivery through at least Doordash and Uber Eats. Moose's Burgers is my new...
